Morgan Wallen’s list of RIAA certifications keeps on growing!
On Wednesday (Oct. 19), the country music superstar earned a whopping 24 new certifications from The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Reinforcing his status as one of the biggest artists in country music, Wallen’s new awards include over a dozen Gold-certified singles and four Platinum-certified singles. Wallen also achieved 2x Platinum status with two of his hits. Meanwhile, three of his singles earned 3x Platinum recognition, and one song and a double album have gone 4x Platinum.
The highest achievement of them all, Wallen’s 2021 Dangerous: The Double Album, received 4x Platinum status. That accomplishment means, in total, the album has moved over four million units. Wallen’s lead-off smash from that same album, “More Than My Hometown,” also received 4x Platinum recognition.
Wallen’s well-received version of “Cover Me Up,” originally written and recorded by Jason Isbell earned 3x Platinum status, along with hits “Wasted On You,” and “7 Summers” – all of which appear on his highly successful double album. Meanwhile, “Somebody’s Problem” and “Sand In My Boots” have both achieved 2x Platinum status.
For those interested, 2x Platinum status means those tunes were sold/streamed over 2 million times.
Wallen’s songs, including “Dangerous,” “Warning,” “Livin’ The Dream,” and “865,” were all certified as Platinum singles, meaning the songs were either sold or streamed over 1 million times.
Adding to his record-breaking success, Wallen achieved Gold status with several songs. They include “Don’t Think Jesus,” “Wonderin’ Bout The Wind,” “Outlaw,” “Bandaid On A Bullet Hole,” “Only Thing That’s Gone,” “Whiskey’d My Way,” “You Proof,” “Tonight You Should Know,” “Rednecks, Red Letters, Red Dirt,” “Quittin’ Time,” “Country A$$ Shit,” “Blame It On Me,” and “Me On Whiskey.”
Of note, a gold certification from the RIAA is a single or an album that has sold over 500,000 units.
Wallen’s latest achievements are the perfect cherry on top to the end of his record-breaking The Dangerous Tour, and what has, so far, been a whirlwind 2022.
The current CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee wrapped his eight-month trek on Saturday (Oct. 8) with a final sold-out show at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Afterward, he took to social media to reflect on the success of his run and also share his gratitude for the support he received from his fans.
“The Dangerous Tour came to a close with our first ever stadium headline show,” Wallen wrote, alongside a series of photos that highlights one of the stops on the trek. “43,500 people in attendance to break the venue’s previous record.”
“I’m in the studio right now working on new music, or I would write a novel about this,” he added. “For now, a huge thank you to everyone involved in this tour and all the fans who made it possible. Love ya. Also, God Bless Texas.”
Speaking of new music, Wallen’s latest song and seventh career hit, “You Proof” is the first track that doesn’t appear on his 2021 Dangerous: The Double Album. The tune is his fastest-rising single to date. It spent 17 weeks climbing the Billboard Country Airplay chart and nabbed the No. 1 spot only 12 weeks after it was added to country radio, a sure hint that he is on track to receive even more awards and accolades in the future.
