Miranda Lambert is embarking on a new chapter of her career after parting ways with her longtime record label, Sony Music Nashville, in March of 2023. The country superstar has signed a record deal with Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud. The deal with Republic Records will include support from Big Loud, who will cover Country Radio promotion alongside additional marketing efforts.

“From my beginning conversations with Monte Lipman, I could tell they appreciate music, they appreciate art, and they’d give me the freedom to create and stay true to myself,” Lambert wrote on Instagram. “Both the teams at Republic & Big Loud are bringing such energy. Having a new home has given me a hunger I didn’t realize I still had inside me. Fired up to enter this next chapter.”

Republic Records’ Founder and Chairman, Monte Lipman, shared that the label is “thrilled and honored” to welcome Lambert to her new label home.

“Miranda Lambert’s legacy as both a consummate storyteller and legendary performer speaks for itself. Her new music is spectacular, and we are thrilled and honored to welcome her to Republic Records in partnership with Big Loud,” Lipman said.

Jim Roppo, President and Chief Operating Officer of Republic Records, also added, “We’re honored Miranda Lambert has entrusted us with this next chapter of her career. As she puts the final touches on her fantastic new body of work, it has all the hallmarks of her signature sound, yet she continues to push herself as a songwriter, producer and performer. We’re all at the beginning of a very special moment, and we’re grateful to be on this journey with her.”

New Song “Wranglers” Arriving On May 3

With this news comes the announcement of Lambert dropping her new single, “Wranglers,” which marks her first new solo material since 2022’s GRAMMY-nominated project, Palomino. The singer/songwriter will release “Wranglers” on Friday, May 3.

Of the song, Lambert explained, “‘Wranglers’ is a tale of a woman taking her power back. I think we can all identify with the character in this song, because we have all had a time in our life that we needed to find a way to find our strength and also get a little revenge on someone that did us wrong or hurt us.”

She also revealed that this new song “feels like it could be on the same record as ‘Gunpowder & Lead’” as it has the “same fury.”

Parted Ways With Sony Music Nashville In March 2023

Miranda Lambert, who’s married to Brendan McLoughlin, parted ways with her longtime record label, Sony Music Nashville, and announced her departure from the label in March of 2023 via social media.

“Since I was 19-years-old, Sony has been my home in Nashville,” her post began at the time. “Over the last 20 years together, we have released albums that allowed me to share my story with the world, and we’ve reached heights I’d never even dreamed were possible.”

At the time, Lambert went on to thank the team at Sony for allowing her to chase her dreams for so many years.

“I’m so thankful for our time together and everything they made possible for me, yet I wouldn’t be true to myself if I wasn’t constantly looking for the next challenge and a new way to stretch my creativity,” she continued. “With that in mind, I’ve decided to say goodbye to my Sony family. I can’t wait to see what the next adventure holds.”

During her time at Sony, Miranda Lambert rose to the top of the game and earned seven No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 hit radio singles, and more than 70 prestigious awards. She is a three-time GRAMMY winner and is the most-awarded artist in the history of the Academy of Country Music, with a total of 37 career ACM Awards. She is also a 14-time CMA Award winner.
