Miley Cyrus is set to release a Metallica covers album.
The superstar confirmed the news of the covers album back in the fall of 2020, Cyrus told Interview Magazine: “We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album and I’m here working on that. We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it [the COVID-19 pandemic downtime] felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”
Now, In a recent interview on Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp, the superstar revealed that has enlisted a star-studded list of artists to be on the project including Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Elton John will be appearing on Cyrus’ cover of Metallica’s hit “Nothing Else Matters,” which is produced Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne).
“I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ featuring Elton John on piano. I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith… so many all-stars,” Cyrus explained to Kemp. “I’m so excited about this collaboration. Andrew Watt produced it, and I’m really stoked. I mean, having Elton John and Metallica and me. I love it when ingredients don’t quite fit.”
Cyrus previously performed a rockin’ cover of “Nothing Else Matters” live at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival in England. You can watch her festival performance of the hit song below.
