Miley Cyrus has the No. 1 rock album in the country right now with her latest release, Plastic Hearts.
The superstar shared the news via her Instagram with a video of her team telling her the news, where she doubted that it was correct.
Plastic Hearts has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart for the week of December 12. The record has earned 60,000 equivalent album units, with 20,000 units sold, in the week ending Dec. 3, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
In the Instagram post, she thanked her duet partners including Stevie Nicks, Dua Lipa, Joan Jett, Billy Idol and more.
“It’s official. #PlasticHearts is the #1 rock record in the country,” Cyrus began to caption the post. “My mind is blown and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank YOU to every creative collaborator involved on this project! If one person was missing I would not be writing this message.”
She continued: “To my f-cking idols @joanjett @billyidol and @stevienicks your blessing, guidance, inspiration , and validation mean everything to me. Even though you 3 would tell me I do not need validation from anyone but my f-cking self. The confidence I have in who I am / what I am doing stems from the values instilled by looking up to you as my role models from the beginning.”
Cyrus is the fourth solo woman to sit atop the Top Rock Albums in 2020 following behind Fiona Apple, Hayley Williams and Alanis Morissette. That also marks the most solo women to sit atop of the chart in a single year since 2012.
Along with her duet partners, the album also includes instrumentals from Mark Ronson, Andrew Watt, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins and Angel Olsen.
