Luke Combs Says Miranda Lambert Is “The Most Badass Person On The Planet”

Following his CMA Entertainer of The Year win at the 55th Annual CMA Awards, during an interview with Access, Luke Combs gushed over fellow Entertainer of The Year nominees, including Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Carrie Underwood and Chris Stapleton.

Combs, still in shock over his Entertainer Of The Year win, said winning the award is “just unreal” and he still can’t even believe its reality as he considers “everybody in that category” to be “idol status” to him, as he looks up to them.

He went on to praise the talents of Lambert, Church, Underwood and Stapleton.

“Like, you look up to a guy like Eric, man, and his ability to hold a crowd and write a song and Chris, just one of the best songwriters of all time, and Carrie’s like the best voice ever and Miranda’s the most badass person on the planet. It’s like, this guy, this is the guy. It just doesn’t make any sense to me,” Combs praised his fellow nominees.

Not only did his dream of becoming Entertainer Of The Year become a reality, but he also was presented with the award by country legend, Alan Jackson. Combs said, “I mean, that was like my first time meeting Alan Jackson, you know, Entertainer Of The Year so not bad, not a bad first meeting, you know what I mean?”

In addition to praising his fellow nominees, he also raved about his wife, Nicole, who he accidentally forgot to thank during his acceptance speech.

“I did forget to thank my wife out there which, babe, I love you, you know I love you. I don’t even have to say it, you know I love you.” Combs said. “But, and I really don’t ever write speeches. And just because I like the moment, like you wanna’ say just whatever comes to mind up there, and I know that sometimes you probably say something stupid, laughable up there but like just genuine bewilderment for me up there like I’m just like what are you saying like how do you, theirs nothing you can say that’s like good enough in life.”

Combs recently made history with his chart-topping single “Cold As You,” which marked his twelfth consecutive No. 1 hit at Country Radio. Co-written by Combs alongside Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, “Cold As You” appears on his deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get.

According to US Radio Updater on Twitter, Combs’ album What You See Ain’t Always What You Get has officially become the first album in history to produce seven No. 1 singles on Country Radio in the United States.

The North Carolina hitmaker is now the only artist in history to earn seven chart-topping singles from the same album.

Additionally, the North Carolina native recently performed during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Halftime show. Combs performed a medley of his fan-favorite hits, including “When It Rains It Pours,” “Beautiful Crazy” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
