Chayce Beckham’s impressive performance on American Idol had the judges praising him.

After being pushed by his family to pursue his music career, the heavy machinery operator turned singer performed “What Brings Life Also Kills” by Kolton Moore & The Clever Few. The 24-year-old California native truly picked the perfect song for his audition as he shined with his unique vocals that paired perfectly with the acoustic guitar.

Following his performance the Idol judges praised his impressive vocals.

“You sound like you operate a forklift,” Katy Perry said. “You sound like the heart of American, I think you’re a top 5.”

“I definitely love what you just did, you killed it,” Lionel Richie said.

“The reason why we sit in these chairs for long hours is because American Idol is about finding a forklift driver,” Luke Bryan added. “You’re what this show is all about and your why I call home and tell my wife and people back home, ‘wait till you see this one dude.’”

“Your first note had me, I mean I started clapping and I didn’t even know my hands were clapping,” Bryan gushed.

The exceptional performance earned Beckham a golden ticket to Hollywood.
