Luke Bryan and his guitar tech Russ embarked on a fishing trip that was unfortunately cut short due to an injury.

The country superstar got hooked by a fishing lure on Tuesday (Mar. 30) and Bryan documented his injury and it’s fix along the way. Bryan shared a video clip of the injury, showing a three-hook lure stuck in his thumb on a fishing boat.

“Well, this is gonna leave a mark, pretty sure that’s in my bone,” Bryan said in a clip, captioned “Dammit.”

“I invited Russ on a fishing trip and leave it to me, I ruined the fishing trip,” Bryan said in an Instagram story following the incident.

The “Down To One” singer kept fans updated via his Instagram stories from leaving the fishing boat to seeking medical attention to get the lure removed from his thumb. After getting the hook removed, the singer returned to the water to fish.

“Got the hook out, we’re back,” Bryan said in a video clip that showed him and his guitar tech on a boat fishing.

Additionally, Bryan is preparing to release the deluxe edition of his chart-topping album, Born Here Live Here Die Here, which will include the original 10 tracks along with 6 brand new songs.

“We all know 2020 was hard on all levels for many,” Bryan previously said. “Things were put on hold in the entertainment business, but it did allow more time to make music and I’m excited to share these six new songs.”
