Lainey Wilson brought smiles to the faces of young patients at Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville last month, visiting the hospital to perform for patients.

Performed “Heart Like A Truck” For The Children’s Hospital Patients

A video shared on YouTube by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation shows Wilson walking into the hospital and waving at the young patients before delivering a performance of her hit song “Heart Like A Truck.”

“The incredible Lainey Wilson recently stopped by Seacrest Studios to pet Squid, play a couple songs, and meet some kids! We had a great time and hope you visit again soon, @laineywilson! 🫶 @ryanfoundation,” the Hospital captioned the clip.

Took Pictures And Signed Autographs

She also took the time to speak to patients and take photos, giving out hugs and autographs as she spent time with the children and teens in the hospital, as well as one dog.

“Moments like today make me remember why I’ve wanted to do this, why I started doing this,” Wilson said in the video. “It’s about using your gift for the good. It makes me remember what life is truly all about, and I’m so honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to stop by here today. It’s refilled my cup. These things make me want to do better and be better because of these kiddos.”

Seacrest Studio is a partnership between Vanderbilt and Ryan Seacrest Foundation that gives patients at Children’s Hospital the opportunity to express their creative side through radio, television and new media.

The 723-square-foot multimedia studio broadcasts to patient rooms via closed-circuit televisions and programming includes game shows, celebrity interviews, dance parties, lip-sync battles, bingo, educational series, live music performances and more, and patients can interact with the studio when special guests, like Wilson, come in to perform or by getting behind the mic to try their hand at radio interviews or producing a television program.

“Watermelon Moonshine” Making Its Way Up The Chart

Her latest single, “Watermelon Moonshine,” from her album, Bell Bottom Country, is currently in the Top 20 at country radio and evokes the passion of young love.

“This song is about the young, wild, crazy love that we all hope to experience,” Wilson previously shared in a statement. “From locking eyes for the first time, to playing spin the bottle with an Ole Smoky mason jar, to being too crazy about each other to tame it.”

Wilson penned the song with Josh Kear and Jordan Schmidt, and the trio was inspired by Deana Carter’s 1996 hit “Strawberry Wine” when they penned their own song about being young and in love with a little bit of alcohol nearby.

New Album, Bell Bottom Country

Bell Bottom Country features 16 tracks, including the chart-topping “Heart Like A Truck,” “Atta Girl,” “Smells Like Smoke,” “Hillbilly Hippie,” “Grease” and the heartfelt “Those Boots (Deddy’s Song),” which pays tribute to her father, Brian Wilson.

“I’ve lived quite a bit of life the past few years, and I have a lot more to say,” Wilson shared of the new album. “Sure, I love a good pair of bell bottoms, but Bell Bottom Country to me has always been about the flare and what makes someone unique — I have really embraced mine, and I hope y’all can hear that across this project.”
