Kutter Bradley earned a coveted spot in the Top 30 on American Idol after delivering an electrifying cover of HARDY‘s “Boots” during Hollywood Week, marking a major milestone for the 22-year-old fire protection inspector from Muscle Shoals/Florence, Alabama, now chasing his music dreams in Nashville, Tennessee.

Reflecting on the moment just before his audition, Bradley admitted the magnitude of the experience began to set in as he watched the competition unfold around him. He shared, “Everyone out here is mind blowing so my nerves are definitely up now. I never would have thought I would be right here ever. It’s just kind of a dream that I don’t realize that I’m living. This is a huge opportunity for me.”

“I moved away from home to do this dream. Kind of left everything behind and so I want to stay really bad,” he admitted before going into his performance.

He then stepped onto the stage at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in front of the judges to showcase his vocal talents with a performance of “Boots” by HARDY. Clearly impressed, Carrie Underwood applauded Kutter Bradley’s performance. She complimented his strong vocals, commanding stage presence, and high energy. “I feel like you’ve got a solid voice. I feel like you’ve got a big range. You were like a lion, like pacing back and forth, like getting ready to bust out of the cage,” she said, praising the Idol hopeful.

Luke Bryan playfully interrupted Underwood, shouting, “Easy, easy,” before Lionel Richie joined in, adding, “slow down. slow down.”

Underwood, unfazed by their remarks, didn’t hesitate and continued to gush, “It was good. It was good.”
