Kenny Chesney’s Here And Now Tour made its way to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 18, marking the 18th show of the superstar’s massive summer tour and his 10th sellout at Lincoln Financial Field.

According to social media posts from several concertgoers, Chesney sustained an injury to his hand during the show. Blood was reportedly gushing from his hand and even ended up staining his jeans and shirt. It’s unclear how Chesney was injured.

As they say, “the show must go on,” and Chesney certainly lived up to that mantra, playing through the pain as a member of his team rushed to the stage to bandage him up.

Philadelphia’s country station, 92.5 XTU, was in attendance and captured the moment on video.

“Kenny Chesney gushing blood from his finger, had someone come out on stage to tape it, all while not missing a beat,” the radio station captioned its post.

Fans praised the East Tennessee native for pushing through.

@kennychesney literally had a bleeding finger during our concert tonight in Philly and he kept performing… that’s dedication 10/10,” wrote one Twitter user.

Several fans shared similar sentiments on Instagram. “Such dedication to his fans while getting bandaged ❤️ such a great night,” wrote one concertgoer, while another shared, “I was amazed! He didn’t miss a beat the whole time!”

This isn’t the first time Kenny Chesney has sustained an injury during a concert. In 2008, his foot got lodged in a stage lift during the first song of his Columbia, South Carolina concert. He powered through despite the pain and ended up finishing the concert.  Following the show, his boot had to be physically cut off his foot. He was later treated by a University of South Carolina doctor.

“I took one look at those fans, and there was no way I wasn’t going on. Sometimes the energy and the adrenalin pull you through. They had come to rock, and there was no way I was sending them home with anything less than the best of what me and my guys came to do – put it all out there and give them back at least as good as they gave us,” the eight-time Entertainer of the Year shared following the 2008 concert. “Honestly, through the pain, through all of it, Columbia, S.C., totally got me through.”

Chesney’s Here And Now Tour will resume on Thursday, June 23 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The tour runs through August 27.
