Kenny Chesney returned to Sphere on Friday (June 19) for the second leg of his highly anticipated Las Vegas residency after delivering 15 electrifying shows at the iconic Sin City venue in 2025, when he made history as the first-ever country artist to perform there.
As No Shoes Nation eagerly awaited Chesney’s arrival, the massive screens displayed a heartfelt montage of photos spanning the country superstar’s legendary career, highlighting milestone moments alongside snapshots with friends and family. The slideshow was soon covered by a sprawling, cartoon-style virtual curtain reading “Kenny Chesney Live at Sphere,” featuring countless nods to his career and fan community, including Vibe Room road cases, his signature straw cowboy hat, Blue Chair Bay Rum logos, We Do and No Shoes Nation flags, pirate ships, an acoustic guitar and more.

The crowd spanned generations, from young children to longtime fans, proving that Chesney’s music continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. Many proudly wore Kenny Chesney merchandise, including homemade t-shirts and pants, No Shoes Radio and Hey Now Records hats, exclusive Sphere merch, and vintage shirts from past tours.
At approximately 8:10 P.M., the virtual curtain slowly sank beneath the sea, creating the illusion that Sphere itself was descending into the ocean. The breathtaking transition launched a cinematic, 4D opening video that immersed fans in stunning underwater and above-water landscapes featuring towering waterfalls, fiery caves, Chesney’s signature skull-and-crossbones emblem and other visual tributes to his career and No Shoes Nation. The journey ultimately arrived in a town built for No Shoes Nation, where a massive glass sphere emerged to welcome Chesney to the stage as the crowd erupted.
The country music icon exploded onto the stage with a big smile on his face to “Here And Now” and “Living In Fast Forward” before taking a second to greet the capacity crowd.
“Las Vegas, it’s good to be back, thank you so much…We want to welcome you to our very first night here at the Sphere. I am going to assume that the majority of you people are from out of town that you flew into Las Vegas… We want to thank you. I’m going to thank you all night, but here’s the thing. Every one of you along with us could be somewhere else tonight, but collectively we chose together to be here tonight.” Chesney said with an ear-to-ear grin. “We’ve been looking forward tonight for a long time. As y’all know, we played here last year and we could not wait to feel this energy again this summer. You know, It’s been a long winter. I’m so happy to be here for you. Nothing can get you out of your mundane existence like Vegas and the Sphere and all of us and music.”
Kenny Chesney, an eight-time Entertainer of the Year, delivered a memorable two-hour-plus set packed with energy, hit songs, deep cuts, and tracks he hasn’t performed live in quite some time, including the live debut of his new history-making Country radio single, “Carry On.” Wearing a red cut-off T-shirt, jeans, and his signature straw cowboy hat, Chesney powered through a 29-song set list featuring fan favorites such as “Beer In Mexico,” “Reality,” “I Go Back,” “Summertime,” “Get Along,” “When The Sun Goes Down,” “All The Pretty Girls,” “American Kids,” and more.

He also performed “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven,” a song Chesney said hasn’t been in his setlist for a while, along with “Come Over,” which he said he hasn’t played in a couple of years. The show went far beyond a typical concert, it was a visually immersive journey that felt like a high-speed ride through Kenny Chesney’s legendary career in country music. The production blended his biggest hits with striking visuals spanning his life and legacy, while also tipping its hat to No Shoes Nation, his East Tennessee roots, and his island escape in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
During “Big Star,” Chesney honored several female artists including Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Megan Moroney, Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn, and more. He then sent the sold-out crowd racing through the Las Vegas Motor Speedway during “Living in Fast Forward,” before transporting them to the neon glow of the Las Vegas Strip for “Out Last Night.”
Fans were also treated to a major surprise when Chesney welcomed longtime friend and fellow superstar Eric Church to the stage. Together, the two delivered a powerful three-song collaboration, including Chesney’s nostalgic favorite “When I See This Bar” along with Church’s hits “Drink In My Hand” and “Springsteen.”
The stunning visuals transported concertgoers through different chapters of Chesney’s life and career, as well as some of his favorite places around the world, including the Virgin Islands, his East Tennessee hometown, iconic stadiums he’s performed in, and more. For this second leg of Chesney’s Sphere residency, he introduced fresh new visuals for different songs while still keeping some of the fan-favorite moments that generated buzz during the first run.

“Sphere lets me take people back home with ‘I Go Back,’ to piers that don’t exist for ‘Til It’s Gone,’ flying through downtown Los Angeles for ‘Settin’ The World on Fire,’ inside a pinball machine with ‘Big Star’ and some of my favorite places in ‘When I See This Bar,’” Chesney shared in a statement after the show. “You can take them, give them even more of what the song is.”

From the moment he exploded onto the stage to “Here And Now” to the final lyrics of “Don’t Happen Twice,” Chesney kept the sold-out crowd in the palm of his hand during the entire show with his captivating stage presence. He concluded the impressive, larger-than-life show with a three-song encore that included “American Kids,” “Anything But Mine” and “Don’t Happen Twice.”
Despite the massive venue, featuring 167,000 precision-tuned speakers and 171 million pixels across a 160,000-square-foot wraparound screen, Chesney made sure to connect with fans throughout the night, slapping hands, grabbing license plates gifted to him, pointing out fans singing along, and staying after the show to sign autographs. After his over two-hour set, he made sure to stay and sign autographs for fans for quite some time, showcasing his appreciation for No Shoes Nation.
“To me, these songs I sing aren’t just mine, they’re all of ours. If we can sing them true, play deep and just surrender to what they say, we can connect on a whole other level here. It was a lot of feelings, a lot of years, but man, did we feel it, and the love, and all the passion people bring,” Chesney continued during a post-show wind down. “Whether it was Eric and his family coming all the way across the country to be part of kick-off, the people down front singing every word – or the people near the top holding up their phones with flames burning, I could feel it all, and whatta feeling.”

Not only was the show a true celebration of Kenny Chesney and his storied career, but the entire venue, and even parts of the Las Vegas Strip, transformed into a No Shoes Nation tailgate. From the Minus5º Blue Chair Bay Rum-themed Ice Bar at The Venetian Resort to the immersive “Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta Love” experience developed by Chesney and Vibee. Chesney even personally curated the music playing in the venue’s lobby.
