NBC’s The Voice Season 21 battle rounds are officially underway!

Team Kelly’s Girl Named Tom and Kinsey Rose went head-to-head on Monday evening (Oct. 11) with a cover of The Eagles’ “Seven Bridges Road.”

Country superstar Jason Aldean was on-hand as Kelly Clarkson’s battle advisor and offered Girl Named Tom and Kinsey Rose a bit of advice before they took the stage.

“Country music is primarily what I sing,” shared Rose, who went on to express her excitement over the opportunity to work with Aldean. “Jason has been doing this for a long time, he’s played for huge audiences. So you learn a lot from a guy like Jason.”

During rehearsals, Aldean praised Girl Named Tom’s family harmonies and even compared Rose to Lee Ann Womack and Alison Krauss.

The contestants showcased their harmonies and delivered an impressive rendition of the 1969 hit.

Girl Named Tom and Kinsey Rose had coach Kelly Clarkson out of her chair, cheering them on. However, she had a tough decision to make as only one contestant could move forward to the knockouts.

“It was so good,” Clarkson shouted following their performance. “That’s Team Kelly!”

Blake Shelton was thoroughly impressed and told the contestants they should be “singing together all the time.” He also compared Rose’s look to that of a country music icon.

“Kinsey, in terms of winning the show you’re definitely somebody I would think about if I was Kelly because you have so much character in your voice,” Shelton gushed. “And by the way, you look like Hank Williams Sr. up there, that’s a Hank Williams Sr. outfit.”

He later added, “And then Girl Named Tom, together it was incredible but when you stepped out with that top note towards the end, your voice is so freakin’ powerful. You guys are great too. They pay me to pick people, but I don’t care, I’ll take a pay cut. I’m not going to say who, it’s too good.”

Ariana Grande that praised the arrangement as well as each of the contestants’ individual talents.

“This was so incredible, Kelly you arranged the hell out of this,” Grande complimented, as Clarkson chimed in, “they arranged that version.”

“Oh my God, so great, so brilliant! It sounded like you could be a group altogether, all four of you, but also so incredible individually as well,” Grande added. “If I had to lean, I would lean slightly in the direction of Girl Named Tom.”

John Legend was equally impressed.

“That was so inspiring and beautiful, this is the kind of thing people pay lots of money to experience,” Legend shared. “Musically, I feel a little bit more connected with Girl Named Tom, but I would say Kinsey to me sounded like the best soloist. Her tone is just so crisp, and it’s very compelling.”

Girl Named Tom and Kinsey were then praised by their coach, Clarkson.

“I’m so proud to say that you’re on my team. It’s just such a special thing for me,” Clarkson added. “You know, Girl Named Tom, I have heard you in rehearsals. I have heard each of you sing, and you’re incredible. And Kinsey you’re the kind of country singer that I love and no ones like you on this show.”

“The winner of this battle is Girl Named Tom,” Clarkson declared.

However, in a twist of fate, Kinsey Rose was saved from elimination. This marked a first in the history of The Voice as she revealed three steals and a save.

Ultimately, Rose chose to stay with Team Kelly.

After choosing to stay with Clarkson, the superstar compared her to country icons Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton.

The Voice returns on Tuesday evening (Oct. 12).
