Grammy Award-winning artist Kelly Clarkson just announced that she will be headlining an exclusive Las Vegas Residency, dubbed chemistry … an intimate night with Kelly Clarkson. The show opens Friday, July 28, 2023 at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Clarkson and her band plan to immerse fans in an intimate experience designed specifically for the venue formerly known as Zappos Theater.

Kelly Clarkson Is “Excited” To Perform In Las Vegas

“I am so excited for these shows and couldn’t think of a better place to get back on stage than Las Vegas! The crowds in Vegas are such an amazing collection of people that simply want to have a great time and that’s what we’re going to do!” said Kelly Clarkson via a press release. “So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on The Strip, and I’m so excited to create my own!”

The 10-show residency runs July 28 through August 19. All shows are listed at 8 p.m. and tickets go on sale Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m.

Before this upcoming residency, Clarkson was prepped for something similar in 2020. Her “Invincible” residency was slated for the same venue and was announced in November 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic forced her to cancel.

Recently Announced Her Brand-New Album, Chemistry

The new residency wasn’t the only news Clarkson shared with fans. In a Twitter video on Sunday, March 26, Clarkson announced her new album, Chemistry

Clarkson said she has been working on the album for “close to three years now” and she “wasn’t sure she was going to release it.”

“I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing,” Clarkson said in the video. “This album is definitely the arc of the entire relationship and a whole relationship shouldn’t be brought down to one thing.”

The Project Comes After Her Very Public Divorce

The relationship Clarkson might be referring to is her marriage to former manager Brandon Blackstock. The two were married for eight years and their divorce was finalized in March of last year. They share two children together.

“Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing but it can also be very bad for you,” Clarkson continues in the video. “That’s why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was the perfect title to describe the entire album.”

She told Variety in 2022 that she was working on new music that she planned to release in 2023.

“It’s coming out next year and this is an important album,’ she told the magazine. “I’m working on this in therapy: I have a hard time vocalizing what I’m feeling sometimes, so music is helpful for me. It’s just been really healing. I recorded the record quite some time ago.”

She didn’t announce a release date for the album but did say it would be “soon.” She also added that new music would be coming out “even sooner.”

Chemistry Is Kelly Clarkson First New Album In Over Five Years

Chemistry marks Clarkson’s first major studio album in more than five years. She has released holiday music and a “Kellyoke” album due to the popularity of her opening segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

“When my ex and I first separated, there were many emotions. It was hard,” Clarkson said in the feature. “My producer and I were laughing yesterday because I was like, ‘Remember that time we wrote, like, 25 songs in a week?’ A lot of those are the ones that are on the album. I literally wrote most of these almost two years ago. Then I told my label, ‘I can’t talk about this until I’ve gone through it,’ and it’s just taken some time to do that. That’s one of the reasons we’ve done a lot of Christmas stuff the past two years — because I was like, ‘Well, that’s happy!’”

With the announcement of the new album, it appears Clarkson has “gone through it,” and is in a happier place.

Additionally, Clarkson is set to perform on the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, March 27 on FOX. She is also a judge on NBC’s “The Voice” which airs on Monday and Tuesday nights.
