During the 1-hour Garth Brooks special of The Kelly Clarkson Show dubbed ‘Songs & Stories With Kelly & Garth,’ Clarkson and Brooks performed covers of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” and Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” The pair also covered Don McLean’s “American Pie,” David Allen Coe’s “You Never Even Called Me by My Name” among others.

After telling stories of “gathering around on the weekend” in the past, Brooks performed a soothing cover of Billy Joel’s smash hit “Piano Man,” with just an acoustic guitar and his raw vocals.

Following their “Piano Man” cover Clarkson joked saying “What the hell happens, that is not normal Garth,” as she wiped away tears.

Brooks and Clarkson then performed a stunning cover of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscar-winning duet “Shallow,” from the hit film ‘A Star Is Born.’ Before performing the cover, Clarkson discussed Brooks duet with his wife Trisha Yearwood that is the lead single from his album, FUN.

“I love it, but y’all sing it so well,” Clarkson complimented their duet. Brooks immediately replying with “You wanna sing it, I would love to hear you sing it.”

Clarkson agreed to sing the cover with him saying “Yes I do, okay I want to sing it with you. Sorry Trisha, you’re not here and if you were here, i’d sing three part.”

“Oh my God, that was fabulous,” Brooks said holding back tears following their performances.
