There’s a saying that goes, don’t believe everything you read on the internet. And that saying rings true. After all, with the rise of artificial intelligence and the influence of social media, just about anything can be misconstrued, exaggerated, fabricated, or even labeled a conspiracy. And when it comes to celebrities, they are often the target for fake news.

Such is the case for country stars Kameron Marlowe and Dylan Marlowe.

Despite being unrelated, these two artists are often mistaken for siblings due to their matching surnames. But it may come as a surprise that they are anything but brothers. In fact, the only common thread between them is that the two country singer/songwriters share a love of music.

Kameron, a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina, is the son of Kip and Elizabeth Marlowe while Dylan, who was born and raised in Statesboro, Georgia, is the son of Jamey and Lisa Marlowe. Both artists do have siblings, with Kameron having a brother named Aiden and Dylan having two siblings, Colby and Haley Marlowe.

Kameron put the rumor to rest during a recent interview with Music Mayhem. And while he insisted that he and Dylan are not related, he did joke that the subject has made him curious enough to consider an ancestry test.

“That’s even better. I have not heard that yet,” Kameron shared his surprise at the question that’s become a trendy topic in the frequently asked questions about the artists online.

Kameron then shut down the rumors. “No, we are not brothers. I don’t think we’re related, but he and I have joked about doing ancestry.com to see together,” the “Giving You Up” singer added. “So that might be a piece of content that comes out. So I might get us an ancestry.com thing and send in our DNA, and let’s see what happens. And let’s see if there’s somewhere down the line that his side of our family or his side of my family split off and went to Georgia. I don’t know.”

While Kameron is contemplating getting his DNA sample ready. He has plenty on his plate to focus on aside from proving the rumors wrong.
