Jonas Brothers channel their inner cowboy with an impressive cover of an iconic Garth Brooks‘ hit during their record-breaking performance at RODEOHOUSTON on Friday evening (Mar. 15).

Watch Jonas Brothers Cover Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places”

The award-winning trio, composed of brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, took in the center of the massive, rotating star-shaped stage and delivered an epic rendition of Garth Brooks’ “Friends In Low Places.” After performing a cover of DNCE’s “Cake By The Ocean,” the Jonas Brothers told that they had a surprise in store for them in honor of their RODEOHOUSTON performance.

“We got something special for you tonight, Houston… This one’s going to be a sing-along, so we need y’all to join us,” Joe told the capacity crowd.

Donning black cowboy hats, Nick and Joe took on lead vocals as their brother Kevin strummed the acoustic guitar. As Kevin began playing the opening riffs of the Brooks song, fans were sent into a frenzy. Once Joe sang the opening lines of the song, the crowd immediately launched into a deafening sing-along.

“‘Cause I’ve got friends in low places/ Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away/ And I’ll be OK/ Yeah, I’m not big on social graces/ Think I’ll slip on down to the oasis/ Oh, I’ve got friends in low places,” Jonas Brothers collectively sang on the tune’s chorus in perfect harmony with over 70,000 fans.

Fans Praised Their Countrified Vocals, Begged For A Country Album

Videos of the unforgettable moment flooded social media. Many fans were shocked to hear their countrified vocals, and praised their country cover.

“I can’t believe that Joe singing,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Never in a million years did I think we would see the Jonas Brothers covering Garth Brooks at the Houston Rodeo wearing western attire.”

“The Jonas Brothers singing ‘Friends In Low Places’ was NOT on my 2024 Bingo Card,” another concertgoer commented.

Others begged the Jonas Brothers to release a country project, writing, “Need a JoBros country album ASAP” and “Can y’all drop a country album now?”

Broke The RODEOHOUSTON All-Time Attendance Record

In addition to “Friends In Low Places,” the Jonas Brothers also included some of their biggest hits into their 18-song set list such as “What A Man Gotta Do,” “S.O.S.,” “When You Look Me In The Eyes,” “Year 3000,” “Lovebug,” “Burnin’ Up,” “Sucker” and more.

Their performance on Friday evening (Mar. 15) broke the all-time attendance record with over 75,600 fans filling NRG Stadium, taking the title from Los Tigres del Norte, who set the record less than a week ago. The show also marked the biggest RODEOHOUSTON show so far this year.

“We’ve had a few incredible stops in Houston. But this is next level,” Nick admitted to the sold-out crowd in the midst of their headlining performance. In October of 2023, the group made a stop at Houston’s Toyota Center as part of The Tour, a three-hour concert and nostalgic journey of the Jonas Brothers‘ career that included every track from all five of their albums, including Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009), Happiness Begins (2019), and The Album (2023).

Jonas Brothers React To Breaking RODEOHOUSTON Record

One day after their epic performance at RODEOHOUSTON, the Jonas Brothers took to social media to showcase their gratitude for their fans.

“Houston, we didn’t mean to cause a big scene, 😏🤠” their post began. “Coming back to @rodeohouston 15 years later, we never could have imagined that we now hold the all-time paid stadium attendance record with 75,600 tickets sold… WOW! To the fans: None of this would be possible without you. Your continued support is a constant reminder how lucky we are to have you on this ride along with us. From the bottom of our hearts… Thank you! ❤️”

Not Their First Time Venturing Into Country Music

This isn’t the first time that the Jonas Brothers dabbled in Country music. In November of 2023, the sibling trio teamed up with country star Bailey Zimmerman to release a duet, titled “Strong Enough.”

“So light me up, twist me something good, make it strong enough / Last long enough, before the night is up / Just give me something good, pour me all your love / Make it strong enough, I’m never comin’ down,” Jonas Brothers and Zimmerman sing on the track’s chorus.

When reflecting on the collaboration with Zimmerman, the Jonas Brothers expressed, “We’re so excited to team up with Bailey for ‘Strong Enough’! He’s such a talented artist who’s had an amazing year, so it’s been a blast collaborating with him.”

As a longtime fan of the Jonas Brothers, Zimmerman was thrilled for the opportunity to collaborate with the group. “I literally grew up with them! It’s been incredible to get to know Joe, Nick, and Kevin, and we’ve already shared some memories I’ll never forget,” Zimmerman previously shared via press release. “The fact that they would ask me to be on a song still blows my mind. I hope y’all like it as much as I do.”
