Meet Jesse Desorcy, a 29-year-old Rhode Island country singer who has previously opened up for country stars Big & Rich, Jo Dee Messina and many others.

Desorcy’s performance of David Lee Murphy’s may not have earned him a chair turn but it definitely turned heads and earn praise and constructive criticism from The Voice coaches: Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Nick Jonas.

“I love that song,” Kelly Clarkson said as he concluded his audition. “There aren’t any chairs turned for you because there was just some pitch issues, that I didn’t know if it was going to be a regular thing or you might just be a little nervous but dude you just rocked my little country girl heart. I love that song so much!”

“Your energy level through the roof probably with this opportunity and super excited,” Shelton said. “But you were singing sharp a lot, maybe you should of brought the key up a bit, it really kept me from hitting my button.”

“I really feel like playing with a band, maybe you have one already, is probably the move, because your voice cuts so clearly through,” Jonas explained. “I do feel like you have a really unique tone, so good luck in the future and thanks for singing for us today.”

“When you have the kind of tone you have, it’s very powerful, it’s very energizing for the room. It makes people feel like a lot of passion and powers coming from you,” Legend added. “Just know that you have those tools to work and if you just control them a little bit better, you’ll be in great shape.”
