Miami managed to get even hotter on Saturday the 2nd when the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina once again took over AmericanAirlines Arena for a night of rich, latin performances.
Hosted by Enrique Santos, this year’s show included energy packed sets from the incredible Jennifer Lopez, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, Sech and more. Jennifer Lopez was also recognized for her philanthropic work and was given the iHeartRadio Premio Corazón Award, accepted with a heartfelt speech.
The performances may have been quick, but they packed a punch.
Jennifer Lopez ended the US leg of her “It’s My Party” tour in July in Miami at AmericanAirlines Arena, which she was quick to mention. Although she’s filming a movie, she said she had to return to the same stage to perform at iHeartRadio’s Fiesta Latina.
She owned the stage in a black and white latex bodysuit paired with stunning over-the-knee boots. She kicked off her set with her new single, “Baila Conmigo,” which was the very first time she ever performed it live.
Lopez spoke to the audience, and went on to explain that on her tour, she would work honor Selena by covering her songs on tour. She decided to do the same at Fiesta Latina, and performed a stunning rendition of “Si una Vez.”
Shortly after her performance, she was presented with her award by Enrique Santos. Her speech was touching and had the crowd cheering every chance that they could.
Ozuna and Daddy Yankee both gave the crowd incredible performances which were worth sticking it out for. Of course, Ozuna played his hit with Selena Gomez, Cardi B and DJ Snake “Taki Taki,” along with others. His performance included cryotechnics, confetti and pyrotechnics, giving the crowd a stunning performance – both visually and aurally.
Daddy Yankee was one of our favorite performances of the night. He also wasn’t shy when it came to using stage props. At one point, he used confetti, cryotechnics, pyrotechnics and sparklers all at once – specifically during the classic “Gasolina,” which, of course, had fans off their feet for the 2004 hit.
Behind the scenes, many stars stopped by the red carpet to show off their stunning outfits and say hi to the press. Snow Tha Product, Lupita Infante, Sech, Enrique Santos and Sebastian Villalobos were amongst the many that made appearances.
Overall, the 2019 iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina was bigger and better this year, which seems to be tradition. Both years I have walked out thinking to myself, “there’s no way they can top this,” but it happens time and time again. I am beyond excited to see what’s in store for next year’s event.
