Jelly Roll made fitness a priority in 2023, and the “Halfway To Hell” singer is continuing that into 2024, sharing that he is preparing to run a 5K. Last week, Jelly Roll posted a video on Instagram of himself on a walk, where he announced that he is planning to join a 5K race in May to be hosted by comedians Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

To Partake In 5K Race With Bert Kreischer And Tom Segura

Revealing that he was inspired to commit to the race after his appearance on the Full Send Podcast, where host Kyle Forgeard “convinced me that I could make it to the 5K by May if I dedicated myself to it.”

“I believe him,” Jelly Roll declared. “I believe in myself. Bert I love you bubba, Tom, I don’t know you, but I love you too and can’t wait to meet you. I’ll be there, baby! I’m in the woods walking every morning. 5K by May, baby. 5K by May.”

Jelly Roll captioned his video, “This message is for Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura. Somebody let them know I’m in for the 5K in May. Kyle Forgeard gassed me up. I’m ready to go. Anyone wanna join me?” It seems Jelly Roll’s fellow artist Zach Bryan may have accepted the invitation, commenting, “We’re all here with you brother! If I’m not playing I’ll be there!”

During his appearance on Full Send, Jelly Roll shared that he was in for the 5K after discussing it with Forgeard, telling the host that he’s been “walking every morning” and is “feeling good.”

Jelly Roll Wants To “Get Healthy” So He Can “Live Longer” And “Feel Better”

Later in the podcast, Jelly Roll opened up about wanting to “change my life,” sharing that he wants to get healthy and live longer and overall get rid of anything that’s not serving him.

“I’m in a fragile place in my changing of my life right now. So I’m kind of cutting out outside things just because I don’t need a lot of voices in my life,” he said. “I’m trying to make some big decisions here. You know what I mean? I want to change my life [and] I want to get healthy [and] I want to live longer [and] I want to be happy… want to feel better [and] I want to be of service. And sometimes you catch the love, but you’ll catch that other sh—t too. And I just don’t care for it. I’m at peace with however it shakes out.”

Candidly Details Weight Loss Journey, Previously Revealed He’s Lost Nearly 50 Pounds

The Tennessee native has been candid about his health journey over the years, including the difficulties he battles every day, telling Fox News Digital at the CMA Awards in November that he had lost between 45 and 50 pounds throughout his summer tour.

“I don’t even have a goal when it comes to health,” he explained. “I just want to keep doing the right thing and feeling better. I’m starting to find a will to live, and I want to lean into that, that’s it. I just want to be happier.”

The singer continued, “Weight is normally directly related to mental health, so I’m trying to get that under control and the rest is following that. I’ve been working out. I’ve been losing weight, slowly but surely.”

In February 2023, he told fans on X that he wants them to “know that I’m doing my part” when it comes to weight loss. “I’m working out daily… praying and meditating …. Eating better – losing weight,” he wrote. “Making sure I bring the best version of me on my new album and this tour… this is what growth and gratitude look like in real time.”
