Jason Aldean gave Morgan Wallen a shoutout during his Bonnaroo Farm concerts!

The country hitmaker performed his first live, in-person concert on Friday, May 14, at the Bonnaroo Farm in Tennessee and during his performance right before “You Make It Easy,” a song co-penned by Wallen, the singer talked about Wallen.

“If any of you guys have followed my career over the years, you guys know that I’m a big country music fan but I love me some rock ‘n roll too. But every once in awhile we got to kind of drop something new on you, something [that] you’re not expecting. And a couple years ago, we dropped this song right here with a good friend of mine,” Aldean told the sold out crowd on night one. “My buddy Mr. Morgan Wallen was one of the writers on this song. The same fan who shared the above video to Facebook, shared, “the crowd went crazy! One of the biggest cheers was for Morgan!”

During the Saturday, May 15 concert, Aldean said that he video chatted with Wallen earlier in the day and he wanted to come to the show but was playing golf and couldn’t make it.

“He actually FaceTimed me earlier today and he was saying that he wished he could be here today but he was playing golf,” Aldean shared. “But Morgan [Wallen] wrote this song a few years ago, before anybody knew who he was. You guys made it a huge hit for us.”

Additionally, the country superstar previously showcased his support for Wallen during an interview on the Just Being Ernest, a podcast with Wallen’s friend and Big Loud labelmate Ernest.

During the March 22 episode, Aldean shared that he personally thinks that Wallen is “one of the most talented guys” that has came through Nashville in a “long time.”

In fact, when Ernest asked Aldean who his favorite artist is right now, he replied “I’ll be honest man, Morgan Wallen.”

“To me I think he’s one of the most talented guys that has come through this town in a long time just from a writers stand point, a singing stand point,” Aldean previously shared. “he was out on tour with me last year and to me and I even told Morgan this when he was out with us, I was like man, your the next superstar of our business man. I mean you could just tell, he just kind of had that thing. I love his voice, I love the songs he’s cutting, I love his vibe, he’s got his own little thing that’s him that’s nobody else and I think to me that’s what being a star is. He’s the guy that i’ve been the most excited about in this town for a long time.”

Aldean continued, “A lot of people it happens right off the bat, like first single blows up, BOOM, then they just kind of fizzle out. I feel like with Morgan, It was kind of a slow build, I mean his first single didn’t really take off. It wasn’t really until… ‘Whiskey Glasses’ is the one that really kind of shot things up.” Later adding, “To be able to come out and sort of listen to his double album, there’s some great stuff on there. And I think that’s it, it’s being able to continue to pick great songs and he’s a guy i’m excited about and hopefully everything that’s going on with him will kind of get straightened out and he’ll be back sooner than later. He’s a great talent man.”
