Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean have been going strong since tying the knot in 2015 at the Mahekal Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. But what some people may not know is that the country superstar’s wife can hold a tune.

In fact, she once auditioned for Season 11’s American Idol, singing Joss Stone’s “Spoiled” in front of then-judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Seven Tyler. A member of the Charlotte Bobcats cheerleading team at the time, Kerr made it through to Hollywood with two votes — one from Jackson and one from Tyler.

Her journey ended shortly after that, but she has since shown off her vocals singing karaoke alongside her famous husband.

However, even though Brittany can sing, don’t expect her to record a duet with Aldean anytime soon. The “Trouble With A Heartbreak” hitmaker says the love of his life first needs to get a little bit more comfortable and get over some uncertainty and self-doubt.

“You know, it’s also a thing for Britt, for her, I think it’s, you know, getting a little more confident in what she does,” Aldean recently told Taste of Country Nights’ Evan Paul. “She did Idol, but she’s never really been out there and sang a ton in like in front of people or even in the studio or anything like that, so, I think with her, she’s great, but to her, she needs a little more confidence.”

“We Are Constantly Looking For A Song”

And while Brittany isn’t in a rush to hit the recording studio, it doesn’t mean a collaboration between her and her hubs is out of the question. Jason Aldean insists it all comes down to the right song.

“I think we are constantly looking for a song….. I think it would be really cool to cut something with her and just kind of allow her to get in the studio and show what she can do,” the country star adds. “You just never know where that song is gonna come from, and if it happens, we’ll cut something, and you guys will hear it.”

This isn’t the first time Aldean has opened up about the subject of working on music with his wife. He previously told Audacys TC and Dina B for Stars and Strings that he was open to recording a duet with Brittany.

“Brit’s a great singer,” Aldean acknowledged. “…. If you find the right song, I think that’s really the key. It’s definitely something I’m not opposed to at all if the right thing came along and made sense. I don’t think she’s ever [recorded in the studio] before. That would be cool. She’d be a little reluctant until she got in there. But I think she’d be great.”

Would Join A Star-Studded List Of Country Couples

If Aldean and Brittany were to record a duet, they would join a list of country artists who have done the same with their significant other, like Kane and Katelyn Brown, Clint Black and Lisa Hartman, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood, and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Aldean is currently in the studio working on his 11th studio album, which he has not yet shared a title for. However, he has released songs “Tough Crowd” and “Try That in a Small Town” from the upcoming project.

“We got about nine songs finished already for the album, and we’re actually gonna go back in and do I think one more session,” Aldean tells Taste of Country Nights. “We’ll probably cut five more songs, and [we’re] looking at it coming out sometime later this year. I think we’re eyeing the fall right now.”

Aldean’s next project will be the follow-up to his 30-track double album, 2022’s Macon, Georgia
