Jason Aldean admitted it’s “pretty wild” having his musical heroes, Tracy Lawrence and Travis Tritt serve as opening acts on his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour. Aldean shared more about Lawrence and Tritt joining him out on the road during a recent conversation with Everything Nash.
“I’m so excited,” Aldean told the outlet during a media event. “I don’t think it’s any secret that Tracy Lawrence has been one of my heroes forever. And Travis [Tritt], too, I remember going to see Travis Tritt at the Omni in Atlanta when I was a teenager, and he was one of those guys that did the country Southern rock thing, and I just thought that was so cool.”
“And obviously, he was a big influence for me, too. And so to have those guys out … my graduation present from high school was tickets to go see Tracy Lawrence. So here I am, out on tour, and these guys are opening for me. It’s pretty wild,” he said.
In addition to Lawrence and Tritt, Chase Rice will be joining the tour. Previously, Gabby Barrett was set to perform, but plans changed after she and her husband, singer, Cade Foehner announced they were expecting their second child, a baby boy.
Aldean announced the line-up change on Instagram, thanking Lawrence, Tritt, and Rice for “jumping in” to fill Barrett’s spot.
“Who’s ready for the #RockNRollCowboyTour?! Excited to announce Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, and Chase Rice will be joining us for the second half of the tour as Gabby Barrett will be having her baby boy,” he wrote. “Congratulations to Gabby, and a big thank you to Travis, Tracy, and Chase for jumping in. Let’s go!,” he added.
Aldean’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour runs through Oct. 29, wrapping up at the Intrust Bank Area in Wichita, Kansas. Earlier this year (Apr. 20), Aldean released Georgia, the second half of his double album, Macon, Georgia. The album features 15 tracks, including “Trouble With A Heartbreak,” the singer’s 27th No. 1 song.
Aldean celebrated his latest No. 1 at an industry event at The Local on Aug. 10.
