Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani won’t be ringing in 2024 together, but the couple has a good reason for it — they’re both working. Stefani opened up about her family’s plans while speaking to Access Hollywood, noting that since Shelton already had a concert schedule, she agreed when she was asked to perform at Wynn Las Vegas during their New Year’s Eve party.
Why Will Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Not Be Together On New Year’s Eve 2024?
“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,” she said.
“Last year, I did Vegas, and I was like, ‘Remind me to never do Vegas again.’ [But] you sometimes want to… not be the host,” she continued, referring to the time she hosted a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas at The Venetian. “So I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it. If you’re gonna be working, then I’m gonna be working.’ So I’m just gonna fly in and out. It’s gonna be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Shelton will be performing at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on New Year’s Eve, while Stefani’s performance will see her return to Sin City, where she hosted her Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl residency at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. From Oklahoma, Shelton is on the bill for CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash event, which will likely feature a pre-recorded performance from the country star.
Gwen Stefani’s New Year’s Resolution Is To Put Out A New Album
Stefani also opened up about her 2024 resolutions while speaking with Access Hollywood, sharing that her goals are to “put out a record,” be “more consistent” in her physical and mental wellness and “keep loving” in her relationship.
Blake Shelton’s New Year’s Resolution Is To Cut Back On Drinking
Shelton previously told Entertainment Tonight that one of his goals is to cut down on drinking in 2024. “I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet. Even cutting back has been hard,” he said. “It’s a resolution, though. And I’ll say it again right now — that’s my New Year’s resolution. To either cut back or stop drinking altogether.”
As for his New Year’s Eve celebrations, Shelton told ET that one of his favorite memories involves his fellow former The Voice coach Adam Levine.
“I’m trying to remember the year, but Adam Levine actually came and stayed with me in Oklahoma, the one and only time he ever came and stayed with me at my house in Oklahoma,” Shelton recalled. “It was New Year’s Eve, like maybe the second or third season of The Voice. He came and stayed. The things that we did to him. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance? You should watch it. Well, he hasn’t been back.”
No New Year’s Traditions For Blake And Gwen
Shelton and Stefani have been together since 2015, though Shelton told Access Hollywood that they typically don’t have New Year’s Eve traditions because “It’s not often that one of us isn’t working.”
He also discussed his performance on New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which will include his good friend Trace Adkins. “My first thought was, ‘Well, I’m not going to do it unless Trace can come down and do it with me,’” Shelton said, adding, “I’m always looking for any excuse I can have to hang out with Trace, and especially to do music with him.”
New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed live on-demand on Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET on December 31 and will be hosted by Elle King and Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith.
Other performers on the lineup include Trace Adkins, Grace Bowers, Kane Brown, Jackson Dean, HARDY, Cody Johnson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Brothers Osborne, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Trombone Shorty, Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman and Old Dominion.
