HARDY honored late 3 Doors Down singer Brad Arnold with a special performance during his set on Saturday evening (Feb. 8) at Canada Life Place in London, Ontario, on his COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR!.
The genre-bending superstar and “Favorite Country Song” singer was in the midst of his headlining performance when he stopped to share an emotional message and performance with fans in honor of Arnold.
“The rock and roll world got some sad news today. If we’ve got any rock and roll fans in the house, we found that a friend of mine, Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, passed away today… Pretty sad to hear, he struggled with it for a while. He was a really good guy,” HARDY told the sold-out crowd. “I’m from Mississippi, he’s a fellow Mississippian, and I would just like to honor him tonight by just singing a chorus of [a 3 Doors Down] song… I’m hoping I can get the power right now.”

He went on to perform a cover of one of the award-winning rock band’s biggest hits, “Here Without You.” Strumming an electric guitar, HARDY stood center stage under a single spotlight, delivering a heartfelt tribute performance in honor of the late “Kryptonite” singer.
“I’m here without you, baby/ but you’re still on my lonely mind/ I think about you, baby/ And I dream about you all the time/ I’m here without you, baby
But you’re still with me in my dreams/ and tonight it’s only you and me, yeah,” HARDY sang, allowing his unique vocals to be put on full display.
“Let’s pour one out for Brad Arnold tonight,” he said as he concluded.
HARDY is an avid rock fan that often credits rock for his passion to pursue a career in music. “Once they let me start watching MTV… all the nu metal and active rock stuff in the early 2000s. It was Puddle of Mudd, Crossfade, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down (Mississippi Boys shoutout), Three Days Grace, [and] Hinder. All the stuff that people like to make fun of, but they all know those are smash rock songs that nobody can deny they love. I grew up on all that stuff; that was when I could discover my own music. That’s the stuff I got into,” HARDY told Audacy’s Rob & Holly Show.
HARDY’s COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR!, presented by Live Nation, launched earlier this month and runs through August 2026. The trek finds HARDY visiting arenas and amphitheaters across North America. Cameron Whitcomb, Tucker Wetmore, Mitchell Tenpenny, Muscadine Bloodline, Jake Worthington, and McCoy Moore will join the trek on select dates. Tickets for the tour can be found at HARDYofficial.com/countrycountrytour.
Brad Arnold died on Saturday (Feb. 7) in his sleep surrounded by his wife, Jennifer, and his closest relatives, according to a statement shared by the award-winning rock band. “With heavy hearts, we share the news that Brad Arnold, founder, lead singer, and songwriter of 3 Doors Down, passed away on Saturday, February 7th, at the age of 47. With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer,” the statement read.
Arnold was the founding member, vocalist, and original drummer of 3 Doors Down. “Brad helped redefine mainstream rock music, blending post-grunge accessibility with emotionally direct songwriting and lyrical themes that resonated with everyday listeners. Brad’s songwriting became a cultural touchstone for a generation, producing some of the most enduring hits of the 2000s, including the band’s breakout hit, ‘Kryptonite,’ which he wrote in his math class when he was just 15 years old,” the statement on social media continued. “His music reverberated far beyond the stage, creating moments of connection, joy, faith, and shared experiences that will live on long after the stages he performed on.”

The band and Arnold family ask for prayers and privacy at this time. “Above all, he was a devoted husband to Jennifer, and his kindness, humor, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those closest to him will remember not only his talent, but his warmth, humility, faith, and deep love for his family and friends. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and kindly asks that their privacy be respected.”
The statement concluded, “He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.”
