Gwen Stefani performed her latest single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” and also teased her forthcoming new album during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (Jan. 5).

The singer shared some news with Fallon that she is indeed releasing an album and this single isn’t just a tease but more a teaser of what is to come for her this year.

“Is there a new album on the way or is this just a tease?” Fallon asked Stefani.

“Yes, of course,” Stefani replied. “I mean at first I didn’t know if I would do an album or not but I have all these songs and I think that even like next week I want to go back in and start writing again because I don’t feel like I am quite done writing and I think that the writing process has been incredibly exciting. I mean I love writing, that’s my favorite thing to do.”

On the topic of the new song “Let Me Reintroduce Myself,” Stefani revealed that her soon-to-be husband Blake Shelton is who made her release this song as he thinks it is a hit.

“Blake was the one that said you know that song ‘Let Me Reintroduce Myself,’ that song is a hit or whatever,” Stefani explained. “And because he has had like 27 No. 1 radio hits and he’s been on The Voice for twenty Seasons picking songs and being around music, I trust him in that.”
