Gabby Barrett is a big winner at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

On Sunday, May 23, Barrett was crowned the Top Country Female Artist during the telecast.

“Thank you so much, oh my god, I’m going to try to keep it together as best as I can. Oh my gosh, This is a really big deal,” Barrett tearfully said. “Thank you y’all so much. This means so much to me, Thank you so much to my team. I’ve been performing for 10 years really hard. My dad and my sister are here and we worked so hard to get here. Thank you so much to everybody.”

Barrett later added, “Thank you to the Lord Jesus above, Thank you Lord for everything, my husband, and my sweet daughter who is back at home watching. Thank you to my dad and my sister. Everyone that supported me coming up, my label, my team Tom and Brooke you guys are the best. WME and the music industry seriously thank you guys so much.”

“You make dreams come true. This has changed my life forever, I’ve never done this before,” Barrett gushed.

Earlier today, Barrett took home her first-ever Billboard Music Awards including for Top Country Song for “I Hope” and Top Collaboration for her “I Hope” collaboration with Charlie Puth.

First-time nominee Barrett is among the top BBMAs honorees, scoring nine nods, which made her the top nominated female artist. In addition to nominations within country-specific categories, the superstar also earned nods within the all-genre categories, including Top New Artist and Top Hot 100 song.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards also featured performances from BTS, The Weeknd, Jonas Brothers, Marshmello, P!nk, Twenty One Pilots, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Alicia Keys, DJ Khaled with H.E.R. and Migos, Doja Cat & SZA, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis with Sounds of Blackness, AJR, Glass Animals and Duran Duran.

In addition to the performers, the BBMAs included a star-studded list of presenters: Kelsea Ballerini, Chelsea Handler, Gabrielle Union, Lena Waithe, Swizz Beatz, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., Cynthia Erivo, Kathryn Hahn, Henry Golding, Dixie D’Amelio, Lil Rel Howery and Padma Lakshmi. Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson, presented the Change Maker Award to Trae Tha Truth.

Hosted by Nick Jonas, 2021 Billboard Music Awards aired live on Sunday, May 23 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC and NBC live streaming website.
