Gabby Barrett performed her rendition of the Christmas classic “The First Noel” during the CMA Country Christmas special on Monday (Nov. 30).
“I am doing ‘The First Noel,’ it is one of my favorite Christmas songs, I’ve listened to it since I was little, so it’s awesome to be able to come here and be able to perform it for everybody and i’m just very excited for people to get in the Christmas spirit,” Barrett said ahead of her performance. “Christmas is my favorite time of the year so Holly Jolly Christmas.”
The powerhouse vocalist got fans in the holiday spirit with her stunning performance of the classic holiday track. The “I Hope” singer recently released her own reimagined version of the song in late October and hopes that fans will embrace it throughout the festive season.
“Christmas is one of my absolute favorite days of the year, and my faith is the cornerstone of my life, so being able to share both with ‘The First Noel’ is a gift,” Barrett previously explained. “I feel so blessed to do what I do every day, and I hope that this song adds something special to your holidays.”
The 11th annual holiday show was filmed this past September, without a live audience and is a production of the Country Music Association.
CMA Country Christmas also featured performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Lady A, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Thomas Rhett and Darius Rucker with Lindsey Stirling.
Hosted by one of country music’s most beloved couples, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins. The one-hour CMA Country Christmas special aired on Monday, November 30 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
