When Drew Parker set out to find a duet partner for his next single, he didn’t have to look much further than his beautiful wife Mallory Sauls Parker. The happily married couple has teamed up on the rising country artist’s brand-new track entitled “King of Country Music.”

Written by Allen Shamblin and Marc Beeson, “King of Country Music” is a fitting tune for Parker’s significant other to be featured on as it plays out as a dedication to the love of his life who shows her support for him every chance she gets.

“King Of Country Music”

The opening lyrics of the tender-hearted track find Parker describing a romantic relationship, where the man is an aspiring country artist and the woman – who believes in the male character’s musical talent – “hangs onto every word / Like he’s the greatest country singer that she’s ever heard.”

Once the chorus hits, listeners get to hear the vocal chemistry between Parker and Mallory as she effortlessly compliments his country twang with her angelic harmonies.

He works the first shift / He drives a forklift / She’s like God’s gift to a working stiff / But he would quit without his one believer / Never, she’d never let him give up on his dreams / Here’s to the queen who loves the king of country music,” the pair sing together throughout the chorus of the song, showcasing their stunning harmonies for all to hear.

Drew & Mallory‘s Love Story Comes To Life In The Song’s Lyrics

Parker and his wife recorded “King of Country Music,” fittingly, on Valentine’s Day. But not until Mallory got a bit of a persuasion to agree to sing on the track. And, it’s a good thing she did, as the tune is close to Parker’s heart. In fact, the couple’s real-life storyline lines up pretty close with the lyrics of the song.

“I met my wife for the first time one night when I was playing in a bar in my hometown,” Parker shared in a press release. “It was her first time ever stepping in a bar. One week later, we went on our first date, and I told her that I had every intention of moving to Nashville to chase a dream I had.”

“We went on our second date a week later. My motivation and passion for chasing MY dream never scared her off. She has stuck by me when I had absolutely nothing to show for it except a couple hundred dollars from a tip jar,” he continued. “She has stuck by me when I would write songs all day long, then go to work the night shift at the hospital [and] She has stuck by me while I’ve traveled the entire country while she stayed home and was a single parent many weekends.”

In addition to his new single, fans get a glimpse into the relationship between Parker and his wife, as he also debuted the music video for the track.

The clip stars Parker, his wife, and the couple’s baby girl, Harley Greer Parker and features footage of the family entering the artist entrance of the Grand Ole Opry before Parker takes the stage to stand inside the famous circle in front of a packed house.

The Song Has Nothing To Do With George Strait

At one point in the video, Mallory holds up her phone, which showcases her country singer husband introducing his “King of Country Music” track to a crowd of fans.

He tells the audience, “This song has nothing to do with George Strait. This song has nothing to do with me or the guy singing country music, wherever he may be. This song has everything to do about the woman in any man’s life who is there beside him no matter what’s going on even when he has a crazy dream to move to Nashville, she packs her bags and moves with him.”

And when it comes to music, Parker echoes that same sentiment for folks like him who have chased their dreams of becoming a country artist.

“I think one very important thing to help along the way is to find a woman who will stand beside you, in front of you, and behind you all along the way while you chase the song. That’s what this song is about to me,” he shares. “In no way, form, or fashion am I considering myself the ‘King Of Country Music’ with this song, but I am saying I’m the guy who gets to love the girl who has stood by me and been my biggest cheerleader in my career. I would have nothing without her.”
