Two country heavyweights have just teamed up for their first-ever collaboration, and it has the potential to go down as one of the most memorable duets of all time. Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have joined their voices on a powerful duet called “A Song To Sing.”
Out now (Friday, July 11) “A Song To Sing” was co-written Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert alongside Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor. The ear-grabbing tune, which is sure to become a staple at karaoke joints everywhere, celebrates the everlasting love shared between two people and the music that brings them together.
Even through the unpredictable outcomes of living a big city life, the two superstars share a reminder that meaningful relationships with folks who are along for the ride are always the promising constant within the unknowns of chasing a dream.
“You are a part of me / Baby, you’re the heart of me / Together, we can write a song to sing / And, in that melody / Baby, you’re the harmony that you just can’t find anywhere,” they sing a unifying message while joining their vocals in a harmony that’s pure magic.
Miranda Lambert opened up about the meaning behind “A Song To Sing” in a press release, praising Stapleton’s relationship with his wife Morgane Stapleton, who performs background harmony and duet vocals in her husband’s band and on the road during his tours. Stapleton and Morgane have been married since 2007 and share five children, including Ada, Waylon, twins, Macon and Samuel, and another son, whose name has not been revealed.
Sharing her admiration for the couple’s support for one another through the good and bad and how that is a reflection of the song itself, Lambert said, “Chris understands this emotion from the inside out, because he and Morgane have both lived it. To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life – and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level. When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”

As described in a press release, “A Song To Sing” “reflects the truth of giving one’s soul to the music and heart to the one at home.”
Sonically, the track harkens back to the last five decades of country music, delivering disco vibes and offering a blend of organs, pop synths, silky guitars, a shuffling beat, and soaring harmonies. The tune’s lyrics and production is reminiscent of a Sonny & Cher or Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton classic. But the combination of Stapleton’s soulful vocals paired with Lambert’s Texas twang sets this duet apart from all of the rest.

The single art for “A Song To Sing” release also matches the sound of the track with an early 80s-inspired aesthetic, as it features a heart-shaped disco ball at the center of a burnt orange backdrop.
Produced by Grammy-winning Dave Cobb, “A Song To Sing” will impact country radio on Monday (July 14).
