Chris Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell Lane are asking for fans to send prayers for their newborn son, Dutton Walker, who was hospitalized on Sunday (July 4) evening.

Lane told fans to pray for his 1-month-old son on Monday (July 5), following a 1-night hospital stay. The country superstar shared the news via an Instagram story, which showed video of Lane, his wife and their newborn son in a hospital room.

“It’s been a night…in the hospital,” Lane said in an Instagram story. “Poor guy.”

The story is captioned, “Spent the night in the hospital. If you pray, Dutty Buddy needs some prayers.”

Lane’s wife Lauren shared a photo late Monday (July 5) evening updating fans on their son’s condition via her Instagram stories, which she captioned, “home and resting! Thanks everyone for the prayers – hopefully we keep resting and getting better!”

Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell welcomed their first child, Dutton, earlier this month on Tuesday, June 8 in Nashville, Tennessee. Dutton was born at 11:12 a.m. and weighed 9 lbs and measured 19.5 inches long.

“Everyone in the room, including Lauren and me, were shocked we had a 9-pound baby! Not sure where he was hiding in her belly?!” Lane told PEOPLE, he later added, “Watching Lauren go through the birthing process – from the beginning to the moment she delivered – was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed, I experienced an emotion I’ve never felt before.”

Lane’s wife Lauren Bushnell told the outlet, “I’ve never felt an immediate unconditional love like I now have for Dutton. And going through this experience with Chris has made me love and appreciate him even more… I didn’t think that was possible!”

Additionally, following his son’s birth, the North Carolina native shared a brand new song entitled “Ain’t Even Met You Yet,” which was inspired by his son and co-written by Lane alongside Michael Lotten and Jordan Walker.
