On Sunday, May 23, the Apple Valley, California native was crowned the winner of Idol before performing his debut single “23.”

Produced by Ross Copperman, Beckham recorded the self-penned track at SoundFactory Recording Studio in Hollywood, California.
“23” is a very personal and authentic song to the singer as he sings about his life story and his past struggles with alcohol addiction.

Throughout the autobiographical song he references real life experiences from his past that are true stories.

“Now i’m 23 / and there ain’t nobody who can drink like me / Soon I’ll be 24 / And the Lord knows that I can’t drink no more / I know I should’ve taken it slow / It’s not the way that my life goes / Now I know / When your pass out on the floor,” Beckham sings in the chorus of the track.

“Thank you guys so much,” Beckham said following his performance.

Earlier in the show, he took the stage to sing a Chris Stapleton cover, an Ed Sheeran cover and also performed a duet with country superstar Luke Combs.

Additionally, Throughout Beckham’s Idol journey, he has impressed the Idol judges and stole the hearts of Americans across the country with covers of Chris Stapleton (“You Should Probably Leave”), Ed Sheeran (“Afterglow”), Incubus alongside Brandon Boyd (“Drive”), Bob Marley (“Waiting In Vain”), Kolton Moore & The Clever Few (“What Brings Life Also Kills”), Bryan Adams (“Everything I Do I Do It For You”), Disney’s Dumbo (“Baby Mine”), Coldplay (“Magic”), his Mother’s Day original “Mamma,” Zac Brown Band’s “Colder Weather,” his debut single “23” and Finneas’ “Break My Heart Again” with Casey Bishop.
