Chavon Rodgers, a 23-year-old from Oklahoma, stunned during night two of the two-night season 21 premiere of NBC’s The Voice with an epic cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s viral hit single.

Sporting a leather jacket and a white t-shirt, Rodger flawlessly showcased his angelic vocals with a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s viral hit “Driver’s License,” earning himself a two-chair turn from coaches John Legend and Ariana Grande.

Influenced by One Republic and Shawn Mendes amongst others, Rodgers truly allowed unique vocals to shine with his performance.

Watch his performance below.

After some banter between Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton, Legend and Grande praised Rodgers for his exceptional vocal talents.

“I loved the journey of that performance,” Grande gushed. “I loved the sweetness, the quietness in the beginning. It sounded emotional. You had the softer storytelling part, and then you had this extraordinary ending, and it grew. I like when there’s an ark. I loved your interpretation.”

Grande also admitted his nerve almost deterred her from pushing her button, but she loved getting to turn and hear his voice further.

“You have an amazing high falsetto,” Grande added. “And you had these controlled… Louder, stronger runs, and I was thinking about how fun it would be to work together.”

“One of my soft spots, as a listener, is that Jeff Buckley kind of tone,” Legend said. “It was inviting, it was interesting, it was mysterious in a way, and then it built to just amazing heights.”

Rodgers ultimately chose Grande as his coach after a tough decision.

Prior to receiving commentary from the coaches, Rodgers grabbed a brick from the side of the stage that he wanted to gift to Blake Shelton, however, it wasn’t just any brick, it was a brick from Shelton’s hometown of Ada, Oklahoma.

“I brought something for you,” Rodgers said to Shelton.

“Hey, wait a minute, this isn’t one of those DNA tests though,” Shelton joked.

“This is like an early 1900s ADA brick,” the contestant explained, as Shelton left his seat to approach the contestant to receive the memorable gift.

“I kept some throughout the years, and I’m sure you seem them lying around, so I just wanted you to have a little piece of home,” Rodgers exclaimed.

In disbelief, Shelton says, “you’re giving me that?”

The country superstar then shook the hand of the content and thanked him graciously for the special gift.

“Thank you man, honored to meet you,” Shelton gushed.

Shelton later shared a photo with the memorable hometown gift on Instagram, which you can see below.

The Voice returns next Monday at 8/7c on NBC.
