Carrie Underwood is set to perform at the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, who will be sworn in as the 47th U.S. President.

Carrie Underwood To Perform “America The Beautiful” At Trump’s Inauguration

According to a Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee spokesperson, who told Fox News Digital, the country superstar and eight-time GRAMMY winner will deliver an unforgettable performance of “America the Beautiful” during the swearing-in ceremony. Underwood will be joined by the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

Carrie Underwood’s performance of “America The Beautiful” will take place after Vance takes his Oath of Office before Trump takes the Presidential Oath of Office on Monday, January 20 live from outside of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. The 2025 Presidential Inauguration also happens to coincide with the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.

Underwood Has Not Yet Commented On Her Upcoming Performance At The Historic Event

While the news has been confirmed by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, Carrie Underwood has yet to comment on her upcoming performance. Underwood has kept her political views private for many years, and has been vocal about avoiding politics in interviews.

“I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins,” she previously told The Guardian in 2019 during an interview. “It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.”

Lee Greenwood And Christopher Macchio Also Slated To Perform

In addition to Underwood, “God Bless The U.S.A.” singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio will also perform at the historic event. Greenwood is expected to perform “God Bless The U.S.A.” as Trump walks out to take the Presidential Oath, according to the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.

Trump personally selected Macchio to perform The National Anthem (“The Star Spangled Banner”) to conclude the inaugural program. Macchio performed at the Republican National Convention in July, Trump’s return rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in October after a prior rally was interrupted by an assassination attempt, and at his Madison Square Garden rally.

Other artists expected to be in attendance at Trump’s inauguration are Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Mary Millben and more.

Donald Trump’s 2017 Inauguration featured performances from The Rockettes, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, 3 Doors Down, The Piano Guys, Toby Keith, Big & Rich and 16-year-old America’s Got Talent singer Jackie Evancho.

Carrie Underwood Preparing For American Idol

The eight-time GRAMMY Award winner is set to return to American Idol as a judge, 20 years after winning Season 4 in 2005. Carrie Underwood will join fellow Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, as well as the singing competition show’s longtime host, Ryan Seacrest. The 41-year-old country superstar is replacing Katy Perry as a judge on American Idol after Perry announced she was leaving the show after seven seasons in August of 2024.

“I went from nobody knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show… I’m proud of everything that I was able to accomplish on the show, and I’m so proud of everything that I’ve accomplished since,” Underwood shared at the time in a social media post.
