Music icons Carrie Underwood and John Legend took the stage during The Voice finale on Tuesday evening (Dec. 14) to perform their holiday collaboration, “Hallelujah.”

Spreading some Christmas cheer, Underwood and Legend delivered a stunning performance that showcased their vocal range while surrounded by dimly lit candles and smoke rising from the stage.

For their performance, Underwood donned a gorgeous gold gown adorned with sequins, while Legend sported a white suit.

“Hallelujah” was written by Legend with Toby Gad. Produced by Greg Wells, the song is featured on Underwood’s first-ever full-length Christmas album, My Gift, which was released in 2020.

“He sent it to us kind of at the end,” previously recalled of the track during an appearance on Today’s Country Radio With Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country.

The seven-time GRAMMY winner loved the song so much that she was inspired to rework the track list to make room.

“It was like, ‘Well, I love the song. I feel like this is a puzzle piece I didn’t know was missing, but now that I’ve heard it, I have to have it,’” she explained. “And so we just put the ask back, ‘Thank you for sending, do you want to sing a part with me, too?’”

Ahead of the finale performance, Underwood joined Legend on his series, Trailer Talk, and joined him for a surprise cover of Blake Shelton’s “Austin.” Shelton reacted to their cover, giving it the Shelton stamp of approval by commenting, “Damn, y’all.”
