Breaking Benjamin have been rumored to be collaborating with a star-studded list of talented vocalists including Flyleaf’s Lacey Sturm, Saint Asonia’s Adam Gontier and Underoath’s Spencer Chamberlain. Now, in an interview with Razor 94.7 at Rock USA, the Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley has confirmed the collaborations which will appear on the bands forthcoming new acoustic album, which is not yet named to our knowledge but in the interview Burnley told fans that “I just finished an acoustic album for the band,” continuing to say “there’s one new song on it, but even though it’s the same songs, they’re kind of redone so I feel like I just did an album.” Burnley also told fans that all of the song will have an “orchestra on it.”
Confirming the collaborations immediately following the announcement of the new acoustic record being completed saying, “I had a few guest vocalists” continuing to tell fans who will be featured on the new acoustic record saying “Lacey Sturm, Spencer Chamberlain, Adam Gontier and Mike [Michael Barnes of RED].” So not only did Burnley confirm the collaborations that fans have been hoping for but he also confirmed an additional vocalist on the record being Michael Barnes of RED. Burnley told fans in the interview with Razor 94.7 “there’s four songs with guests vocalists” on the new acoustic record, further telling fans what songs the vocalists will each be featured on which are listed below:
“Dear Agony” has guest vocals from Lacey Sturm (FLYLEAF), “Red Cold River” has guest vocals from Spencer Chamberlain (UNDEROATH), “Dance With The Devil” has guest vocals from Adam Gontier (SAINT ASONIA) and “Failure” has guest vocals from Michael Barnes (RED).
Burnley also teased that he and Sturm might be starting a new band together with both of them on vocals in the interview saying “I don’t know if she’d be mad at me for saying anything about it or not but me and Lacey [Sturm] have been talking about doing another band together, We just want to do like a record,” continuing to tell the interview “We have talking a bit here and there about it, it’d be something different and I think that would be really cool.”
