Blake Shelton surprises fans with a brand new single entitled “Minimum Wage” during NBC’s New Year’s Eve on Thursday (Dec. 31).

The country superstar appeared virtually in a cowboy hat to premiere the music video to the new track exclusively. The new song comes just days after Shelton teased fans to join his mailing list.

“I got engaged to Gwen Stefani. I don’t care what else happened besides that. That made it a great year for me,” the country singer said before revealing his new song.

“Girl your love can make a man feel rich on minimum wage,” Shelton sings in the surprise new single.

“Minimum Wage” follows his latest singles “Happy Anywhere” and “Nobody But You.”

NBC’s New Year’s Eve 2021 also featured performances from AJR, Chloe X Halle, Goo Goo Dolls, CNCO, Jason Derulo, Kylie Minogue, Pentatonix, Gwen Stefani as well as star-studded collaborations from Busta Rhymes feat. Anderson .Paak, Bebe Rexha feat. Dojo Cat and Sting with Shirazee.

Co-hosted by Carson Daly alongside Amber Ruffin and Stephen “tWitch” Boss, The live New Year’s Eve special aired live from the heart of Times Square on Thursday, December 31 (live 10:00-11:00 PM ET) on NBC. Following a break for the local news broadcast, the special returned from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. EST for the iconic ball drop.
