Are Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce re-creating the iconic trio album by Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt?

In a recent interview with RADIO.COM’s Katie & Company, Pearce talked about her newest project, 29, her song honoring her friend and producer, gave an update on her puppy and more. The “Next Girl” singer also teased that her and her wine friends Morris and Ballerini have talked about recreating the iconic Trio record or at least a song from project and admitted that she would love to one day work with her idol Dolly Parton.

“Maren and Kelsea and I talked about recreating the Trio record,” Pearce explained to the outlet. “Or doing a song from it. I want to do that. We talked about it. It’s been out there in the world. I think we should do it.”

The GRAMMY-award winning Trio album is the first collaborative studio album by iconic country superstars Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt, released in March 1987 via Warner Bros. Records. Trio sold over 4 million copies worldwide and spawned 4 hit singles including “Telling Me Lies,” “To Know Him Is To Love Him,” “Those Memories Of You” and “Wildflowers.” The album also won a GRAMMY (1988) for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, an ACM (1987) for Album Of The Year and a CMA (1988) for Vocal Event Of The Year.

Pearce, Morris and Ballerini shared a bond over several things including their love for wine, their trainer (Erin Oprea) and much more. In addition to their special bonds, Pearce also shared that she is thankful for their country music sisterhood.

“Those girls have walked every situation that I’ve walked and there’s just a sisterhood there,” Pearce previously shared. “Most people don’t understand because you haven’t lived what we live and you can’t really ask certain people questions.” She continued, “But for them, we can all bond over what we deal with as female artists in the industry. And it’s just nice to feel like you’re not alone sometimes.”

Additionally, Pearce recently received three Academy Of Country Music Award nods including Single of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year. The 2021 ACM Awards will air live from several iconic venues throughout Nashville on April 18.
