Alexandra Kay is enjoying a full-circle moment with “NEED A FAVOR” singer Jelly Roll!

On Saturday (July 22), the rising country singer/songwriter served as the opener for Jelly Roll’s show at the North Dakota State Fair. The pair also joined forces on stage for a memorable rendition of “Take It Easy” by the Eagles, as seen in the Instagram clip below.

Kay Is A Big Fan Of Jelly Roll And Witnessed His Fast Rise To Fame

Alexandra Kay has considered herself a big fan of Jelly Roll. She has watched him take the country world by storm with songs like “Save Me,” “Son of a Sinner,” and “Need A Favor.” Now that she has accomplished the milestone of joining the hitmaker in concert, Kay, who has had success herself, having made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022, and captivated millions of fans independently, couldn’t help but take to social media to mark the occasion.

In a post on Facebook, ahead of her performance, Kay shared the news of her North Dakota State Fair show and reflected on a time when she received some useful advice from Jelly Roll that she has held onto ever since.

“This pic is from last year in May, when I met Jelly Roll at an event on Music Row in Nashville,” she wrote alongside a snapshot featuring her and Jelly Roll standing side by side and smiling for the camera. “That day he stopped me in the crowd and gave me words of encouragement and advice I will never forget. Today, I’m opening a show for him at the North Dakota State Fair time flies when you’re having fun!”

“An Absolute Honor”

After the concert, Kay reiterated her excitement, posting a post-show photo, writing: “I got to witness this incredible human play to 18,000 people last night. In the midst of his skyrocket to the top, he is always reaching out a hand to someone who looks up to him. Last night, and many times before…that hand was extended to me. The words he spoke of me and my career on the stage last night will stay with me forever… and the opportunity to perform in front of his loyal and dedicated fan base was an absolute honor. Thank you, Jelly Roll and ND State Fair for having me!”

Jelly Roll’s headlining show at the North Dakota State Fair isn’t the first time he spoke highly of the viral TikTok star. During an episode of Tracy Lawrence’s TL’s Road House podcast, he let listeners know that he too is a big fan of Kay.

“I’m a huge Alexandra Kay fan. I just think she is the salt of the earth, incredible singer, great soul, great human, good songs, and checks every f–king box in the music industry. It’s going to work for her in a real way,” Jelly Roll told Lawrence, who agreed saying, “absolutely.”
