Adele kicked off her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency, Weekends With Adele, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday evening (Nov. 18) after nearly a year-long delay.

“I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience or any disappointment that I caused,” she told the capacity crowd. “But we’re here tonight, together.”

The fifteen-time GRAMMY Award winner brought a visually stunning spectacular to the stage of the 4,100-seat world-class $108 million theater, which was inspired by architecture of ancient Rome.

“I have no idea what I’m embarking on for five months, but I can’t f—ing wait,” Adele told fans early on in the show. “So thank you for being my first night.”

Weekends With Adele celebrates Adele’s career and found the world-renowned superstar performing songs from all four of her studio albums, including 19 (2008), 21 (2011), 25 (2015) and her latest project, 30 (2021).

Her 20-song set list, which marked the longest set of Adele’s entire career, included some of her greatest hits, such as “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” “Set Fire to the Rain,” “Rumuor Has It.” The set also featured several tunes from her 2021 album, 30, including “Easy on Me,” “I Drink Wine,” “Love Is a Game,” “Hold On” and “Oh My God.”

The singer truly allowed her powerhouse vocals to shine as she belted out the lyrics to each and every song on the lengthy set list that had the entire audience singing along all night.

In addition to delivering vocally, she also made sure to allow her vibrant personality to shine as she bantered with the sold-out audience throughout her set.

“I’ve got a lot to tell you. It’s a bloody massive week for me, this week,” Adele told the crowd. “It’s the Walking Dead finale on Sunday! Do we have any Walking Dead fans here?” After she got a pretty healthy dose of screams from the crowd, she was a bit surprised. “Oh! I thought this was going to be a stiffer crowd than that. I’ve been obsessed with The Walking Dead for like over a decade, and on Sunday it’s all coming to an end. And obviously it’s opening night, and it was the Grammys [nominations], and it’s the World Cup – fucking hell, there’s a lot going on!”

She even took to the crowd for an up close and intimate experience during “When We Were Young,” where she greeted fans as photos of her and her family were displayed throughout the 180-degree video wall and as Polaroids of Adele showered onto the crowd from above. As she wandered the venue during the fan-favorite hit, she also got to know her fans a bit by asking them their favorite childhood memories.

The show featured a top-notch production that brought Adele’s chart-topping and fan-favorite hits to life. Her stellar production included pyrotechnics, rain showers,

Highlights of the set definitely included the rainstorm and burning piano during “Set Fire To The Rain” and her magical exit where she disappeared into thin air after a burst of hot pink confetti spilled out from the ceiling of the venue.

The show marked the first of Adele’s 32 show run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which continues through March 25.

Ahead of Opening night in Vegas, Adele took to Instagram to express how “highly emotional,” “excited” and “incredibly nervous” she was to take the stage on Friday evening for the first show of her 30+ date residency.

“I’m highly emotional, incredibly nervous but can’t sit still because I’m so excited,” Adele wrote. “I feel a million miles away from home, I can’t stop thinking about when I was little and saw Tom Jones in Mars Attacks and thought blimey how did he get from Wales to Las Vegas!? I always get scared before shows, and I take it as a good sign because it means I care and means I just want to do a good job. Maybe it’s because I didn’t start when I was supposed to. Maybe it’s because it’s opening night, maybe it’s because Hyde Park went so great, maybe it’s because I love the show I don’t know. But it’s safe to say I’ve never been more nervous before a show in my career, but at the same time I wish today was tomorrow!”

Adele’s Las Vegas Residency kick off comes on the heels of her recent seven GRAMMY Award nominations, including Album of the Year (30) and Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Easy on Me”).
