Morgan Wallen earned his fifth No. 1 hit with “Sand In My Boots,” marking his first chart-topping hit since the November of 2020 when his single “More Than My Hometown” sat atop the charts.

The country superstar and East Tennessee native’s tune rose one spot to No. 1 as the track sat in the No. 2 position last week.

In addition to rising one spot with the most chart points, “Sand In My Boots” also “ranked as Mediabase country panel’s most played and heard song for the February 13-19 tracking period. It received ~8,530 (+819) spins and ~39.65 million audience impressions,” according to Headline Planet.

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Half Of My Hometown” (featuring Kenny Chesney) follows “Sand In My Boots” in the second spot, while Kane Brown’s “One Mississippi” rises to No. 3, Parker McCollum’s “To Be Loved By You” moves to the No. 4 position, and Jordan Davis’ “Buy Dirt” (featuring Luke Bryan) bookends the chart at No. 5.

Co-written by Michael HARDY, Ashley Gorley and Josh Osborne, “Sands In My Boots” joins Wallen’s other chart-topping hits, which include “More Than My Hometown,” “Chasin’ You,” “Up Down” and his first-ever No. 1 single, “Whiskey Glasses.”

Headline Planet also reported that Wallen’s single “7 Summers” was on track to be a chart-topping hit, but many country radio stations across the globe removed the country hitmaker’s music in early 2021 after a video surfaced of Wallen using the n-word.

Wallen returned onto Country radio with “Sand In My Boots” on August 23, 2021, the single marked Wallen’s first official single to hit radio since his music was temporarily removed from Country radio, following the racial slur controversy.

Sand In My Boots” is the third single from Wallen’s record-breaking sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album.

Wallen recently scored 4 nods at the 2022 ACM Awards, including for Male Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year (Dangerous: The Double Album), as well as Song Of The Year for “7 Summers” as the artist and songwriter.
