Nashville, Tennessee has become a hot spot for country stars opening up new bars and restaurants. And although Kid Rock has already claimed a place in Music City, with the Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse located on the famous Broadway strip, he has decided to expand on his real estate with the newly-opened The Detroit Cowboy.
The “Bawitdaba” singer will take up a slot on 500 11th Ave N., with a 12,000-square-foot restaurant called, The Detroit Cowboy, celebrating the grand opening with invite-only guests on June 3. Kid Rock teamed with Detroit restaurateur Joe Vicari to begin the bold new 2025 venture after Vicari brought the culinary legacy of Motor City’s Joe Muer Seafood to the South in 2023, following his resuscitation of the iconic and internationally-recognized seafood joint, in 2011.

Folks dining at the new location will experience big flavor, bold design, and the kind of unfiltered energy you’d expect from Kid Rock.
Rock. But the atmosphere, which includes a host of music memorabilia ranging from legends like Bob Seger to Diana Ross, still keeps it classic, offering vintage supper club vibes, with servers donning classic white dinner jackets and bolo ties on the floor. However, while the original Joe Muer Seafood brand, founded in 1929, was recognized as a fine-dining standard for those in Detroit, Kid Rock says his version of the experience promises to take “the foo-foo out of fine dining.”
“The Detroit Cowboy isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a culinary ride like no other, where like-minded folks who love this country can dine in style,” Kid Rock shared of The Detroit Cowboy in a press release. “Whether you wear a bow tie, a bolo tie, or no tie—it’s all good.”
“I re-designed this place to share some of my favorite milestones and personal artifacts—cool gifts and mementos from legends like Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Bob Seger, and Motown—to name a few, plus a few wild stories of my own as well as nods to musical heroes like Aretha, Stevie and both Hanks of course!” he continued. “The Detroit Cowboy is the only place on earth where Detroit grit and Nashville swagger collide for the finest dining hangout. The Vicaris and Joe Muer know fine dining, and I know how to hang pictures, create a vibe, and make things fun!… all while still holding two middle fingers up high for the haters! To put it simply, I am here to take the foo-foo out of fine dining.”

The Detroit Cowboy diners who choose to dine away from the main floor in a VIP section dubbed “The Eagles Nest,” will enjoy the luxury of a private entrance, linen napkins, and a solo bathroom, coupled with the unapologetic, outlaw energy that Kid Rock is known for, making the dining moment a memory that feels as if they’ve been personally invited to party alongside the rocker himself.
Classic steakhouse cuts, sustainable seafood options, and fresh wines curated by Napa Valley’s wine steward Scott Herrmann take up a large portion of the menu, along with flavorful craft cocktails and ice-cold beer.
Some of the highlighted menu items at The Detroit Cowboy include 32 oz Dry-Aged Tomahawk Ribeye, Veal Chop Parmigiano with Pomodoro and Burrata, Freedom Run Farm Barnsley Lamb Chop, Surf & Turf: 8 oz Chairman’s Reserve Black Angus Filet & Tristan da Cunha Lobster Tail, Shareables like Seafood Tower, Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Truffle Pomme Frites, and Fire Roasted Portabella Mushroom Caps with Beef Tips.
“We’ve built our name on quality, consistency, and hospitality,” Vicari, owner of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group, shared. “Now, with Kid Rock, we’re expanding our footprint. Under the culinary brilliance of Chef Marino Bianchi, guests will experience a culinary journey that celebrates two great American cities.”
