We Came As Romans has the difficult decision to continue touring after the loss of their late frontman, Kyle Pavone, but announced that they would be still moving fourth with their tour plans with Bullet For My Valentine this fall without replacing their late frontman Kyle Pavone and just touring as it is what he would have wanted. Pavone passed away last month, due to an accidental overdose.
Lastnight, Sept. 18th, was the band’s first live performance without Pavone on vocals and keyboards. You can check out some fan shot videos of the performance below from their performance on the first date of the tour in St. Louis, Missouri at The Pageant.
At the show vocalist Dave Stephens shared a emotion-filled statement before performing their single “Lost In The Moment,” “A few weeks ago, we lost our best friend our bandmate, our brother, our singer/keyboardist Kyle Pavone. And this is our first show that we’ve done without him. Thank you guys for being so accepting tonight. This is something I wasn’t sure we’d ever get to do again. I think it’s what he would have wanted. I think it’s the best way to honor his legacy.” Stephens continue to tell fans about Pavone’s life saying, “One of the things that I admired most about him was his ability to not regret his past, not worry about his future and live in the present and enjoy that moment, because he believed things could change so quickly and those great things could be taken from you in a heartbeat.” Fans can be heard chanting “Kyle, Kyle, Kyle” during Stephens speech.
