Sara Evans reacted to Alexandra Kay covering one of her chart-topping hits, and it’s a moment Kay will never forget.
Earlier this month on November 1, Kay shared a clip of herself singing Evan’s “Suds In The Bucket” as part of her infamous ‘Coffee Covers‘ series on TikTok and to her disbelief, Evans herself seen the video and decided to surprise Kay by duetting the clip on the popular social media platform.
@alexandrakaymusic Been covering this song for 7 years now! So happy to see it trending! Thanks for the jam @Sara Evans ☕️
On Friday (Nov. 19), the country superstar noticed Kay’s impressive cover of her chart-topping hit and wanted to join in on the fun by sharing a video duetting the viral country artist on TikTok. In Evans’ video, you can see the country superstar making herself a cup of Joe as she poured iced Starbucks coffee and holiday flavored International Delight creamer into a red solo cup.
“I love your page!! I had to make a coffee with you,” Evans captioned her duet clip, alongside a coffee cup and heart emoji.
When Kay seen the video shared by Evans, she couldn’t help but to praise Evans and her music as she says it was Evans’ music that helped her through some hard times in the past.
“Wow,” Kay commented on Evans’ TikTok, before continuing, “thank you so much Sara Evans. Your music has gotten me through heartbreak and helped me find my independence. You are such an icon.”

Later Saturday evening (Nov. 20), Kay shared a video reacting to Evans’ duet, which found her in shock but also thanking the “Born To Fly” singer for sharing her video.
“That’s Sara Evans duetting my video!” Kay said as the clip opened. “Thank you for having coffee with me! I love your music so much! Thank you.”

Co-written by Billy Montana and Tammy Wagoner, “Suds In The Bucket” was released in May 2004 as the third single from Evans’ 2003 album, Restless. The song has gone on to become Evans’ third No. 1 hit, and her first since “Born To Fly” topped the charts in 2001.
Kay will embark on the third leg of the sought after ‘In Real Life’ Tour with her friends, Cooper Alan and Thomas Mac.
The highly-anticipated tour kicks off on November 30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and continues through mid-December. The tour will wrap up on December 17 in Bowling Green, Kentucky at the Capitol Arts Center. See a full list of tour dates below.
“We had no idea what to expect when we started this tour; we were just excited to play for a live audience again, and thank our fans in person for everything they’ve given us,” Kay said in a press release. “To think we are embarking on the third leg of this tour and continuing to sell out venues as independent artists is mind-blowing. We have the fans to thank for all of this, and I can’t wait for everyone to see this show we have planned for you!”
