Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris debuted the music video on Friday (Feb. 12) for their just-released duet, “Chasing After You.”
The husband-and-wife superstar pairing shared the new track “Chasing After You” earlier this morning and now the stars are sharing the music video.
“Maren and I met writing songs and we’ve sung on each other’s records and written together, but this is the first time we’ve gotten to do an actual duet together,” said Hurd. “It feels like the timing is really perfect and it’s a full circle moment to get to make music together in this way.”
“We recorded all the vocals in our basement, which is crazy to think about these things, like, making hit records where you sleep. It’s nice,” Hurd explained in an interview with ET Online. “The whole thing doesn’t even feel real. I don’t know if it’s because of the pandemic, or because we haven’t worked in so long… but it’s odd the journey something like this takes.”
Hurd and Morris sing the chorus in perfect harmony, “Everytime you say were done / you come back to the love you were running from / don’t know why / don’t know why I let you but I do / cause I love chasing after you.”

“Chasing After You” was co-written by Brinley Addington and Jerry Flowers, produced by Teddy Reimer and Aaron Eshuis.
“The song is actually pretty famous on Music Row,” Hurd shared the new duet with Apple Music Country’s Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen. Then continuing to explain that the demo “made it through the rounds and a lot of people held it. And so I felt really blessed when it kind of fell to me a couple of years ago.”
Hurd also added that while he had recorded an earlier version of the song, Morris told him that she wanted to record the track as a duet with him as they were vacationing in the Cayman Islands.
The couple share a son together, Hayes Andrew Hurd. They welcomed Hayes into the world, just one day before their second wedding anniversary on March 23, 2020.
