Earlier this month, Priscilla Block shared how much Kelly Clarkson has inspired her to pursue her music career and how she’s been a big fan and has always wanted to meet her. Well, now Block has fulfilled that dream as she officially met Clarkson during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Block joined Clarkson on her Emmy-award winning daytime talk show on Thursday (Feb. 17) to chat about her debut album, Welcome To The Block Party, as well as how she nearly quit music before a surprise run-in with Taylor Swift.
The fast rising breakout artist shared that she was about a year into living in Nashville when she was walking down the street, wearing a Swift t-shirt, pondering if she should give up on her musical journey when Swift was driving past and stopped the car to compliment her on her shirt.
“I was leaving work, and I was wearing this Taylor Swift t-shirt and she was just driving by and saw me standing there and was like ‘hey, I love your shirt,'” Block explained, before Clarkson added, “I love that she did this.”
“I know and I’m like ‘what is my life,'” Block continued.
And it was at that moment in Nashville, Tennessee, when Swift’s kind gesture made such an impact on the “Just About Over You” singer, that it ignited the spark in Block to continue to power through and pursue her music career full time.
“It was crazy, I’m like I’m quitting my job, I’m quitting school and I’m going to go figure this out. I don’t know how to do it, but I’m going to figure it out,” Block shared.
Prior to chatting with Block about her encounter with Swift, Clarkson praised the rising star.
“You’re like one of the new artists… I literally was listening and true story I was like ‘who is this?’ and I started looking you up on Spotify. I love your vibe… your songs… your voice. I love everything about you,” Clarkson gushed.
Priscilla Block also gave the live television debut performance of her latest single, “My Bar.”
Block, wearing a “My Bar” branded leather jacket over a blue shirt with a diamond-encrusted heart-shaped necklace, gave a sassy performance of the tune. The 2022 ACM New Female Artist Of The Year nominee was joined by her full band, which consists of Sarah Jones, Jake Remington, Joe Bart, and Josh Beale, for the dazzling performance.
“Don’t come walkin’ in like you own it, you own it / I hate to break it to you, you don’t, yeah, you don’t / You think you’re such a star but here’s the funny part / No one even knows who you are / This is my bar / Yeah, this is my bar,” Block sings on the chorus.

“Welcome To The Block Party baby, I say it’s all the sass, all the trash, and all the sad. Me as a whole,” Block shared of the project. “It’s basically me on an album. I’m really excited about it, I mean, this is my first full length album.”
