Nelly, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND joined forces for an epic performance of “Country Grammar.”

Throughout the star-studded performance, Nelly, Brown, Blanco and BRELAND all traded verses of the smash hit track, while also putting their close-knit friendship on full display with smiles on their faces as they happily interacted with each other on stage.

“I tried to be what I like to call musically free and it’s my personality that made ‘Country Grammar’ what it was, I don’t know it’s almost like it was destined to come here,” Nelly said ahead of the performance.

“It’s historic inner of itself. To hop on stage with you and do ‘Country Grammar’ is exciting because to me it’s one of the first songs I’ve ever heard that there was an acknowledgement that you were yourself and that you were yourself and part of you was super country,” BRELAND added.

“That whole sound inspired what I do and just to be able to perform it with you,” Blanco said. “I went back to listen to it the other day and I said man listen. It didn’t catch a break and just to be able to perform it is a gift itself and is historic.”

Throughout the show, the St. Louis-born rapper brought out his longtime friends and collaborators Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND, who joined Nelly to perform new songs from his just-released country-influenced EP, Heartland. The project features Nelly’s 2x Platinum hit with Florida Georgia Line, “Lil Bit,” in addition to “Grits & Glamour” with Kane Brown, and more.

The 60-minute special also featured high-energy, one-of-a-kind performances of Nelly’s biggest hits, including “Hot In Herre,” “Country Grammar (Hot Shit).” CMT also through in a few surprises to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nelly’s diamond-certified album, Country Grammar.
