Nelly and Blanco Brown’s on stage chemistry is undeniable.

Joined by Nelly, Brown performed his latest single “Nobody’s More Country” during Wednesday (Sept. 1) evening’s CMT Crossroads. Their pre-taped performance took place in Franklin, Tennessee at The Factory in front of a live audience.

“Nobody’s More Country” is a song Brown released in late June 2021 via BBR Music Group/Wheelhouse Records, that marked his first taste of new music since his life-threatening accident. Written by Brown, Tyler Hubbard (of Florida Georgia Line), Jordan Schmidt and Quintin Amey, the song reaffirms Brown’s Country status as he pulls inspiration from his Georgia roots by filling the song with southern imagery, bouncy grooves and his own spoon rhythms.

“I’ve been all around the world and have seen people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds uniting over their love of Country music—the music ties us together,” Brown previously explained of the track in a press release. “It’s the sound of home. It’s the sound of my Georgia heart. It’s hard to imagine anybody loving it more than me.”

Nelly made history as the first rapper to ever headline the iconic CMT series.

Throughout the show, the St. Louis-born rapper brought out his longtime friends and collaborators Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND, who joined Nelly to perform new songs from his just-released country-influenced EP, Heartland. The project features Nelly’s 2x Platinum hit with Florida Georgia Line, “Lil Bit,” in addition to “Grits & Glamour” with Kane Brown, “High Horse” with Blanco Brown and Breland, and more.

The 60-minute special also featured high-energy, one-of-a-kind performances of Nelly’s biggest hits, including “Hot In Herre,” “Country Grammar (Hot Shit).” CMT also through in a few surprises to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nelly’s diamond-certified album, Country Grammar.

CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends aired on Wednesday, September 1st at 10p/9c, exclusively on CMT.
