Nelly and Florida Georgia Line stunned with two genre-defying hits!

The 3X Grammy-award winning rapper and RIAA Diamond-selling country duo performed their two smash hit singles, including the “Cruise (Remix)” and their latest chart-topping collaboration “Lil Bit.”

“10 years ago, we’re sitting on the bus with our very first single and you were the one that kind of helped us realize ‘hey boys, this don’t happen everyday y’all,’” Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard recalled. “This is a huge record and I’m just about to make this record bigger and y’all are buckled up but I don’t think y’all understand what kind of rocket y’all are on. And over the years, being on tour and man we’re so thankful to get to have you as part of our journey and as part of our story.”

“I’ve watched you guys come from single Bachelors,” Nelly said with a laughed. “To these great men, family, husbands, fathers. It’s dope man, and I had a chance to see all of that.”

The longtime friends and collaborators then performed their single “Cruise (Remix)” in front of the packed crowd in Franklin, Tennessee.

Following their performance of “Cruise (Remix),” Nelly and Florida Georgia Line brought a performance of their summer anthem, “Lil Bit.”

“‘Lil Bit’ is a song that can break down some more boundaries and walls and get us to different places,” Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley said of their current chart-topping collaboration. “It’s just crazy what our worlds combined have done and continue to do and man, super grateful. Feels good to be here.”

“I guess they say lightning doesn’t strike twice but I guess kind of for us, the creative Gods and the good Lord above circled it back and we’ve got two hits on our hands,” Kelley added.

Nelly made history as the first rapper to ever headline the iconic CMT series.

Throughout the show, the St. Louis-born rapper brought out his longtime friends and collaborators Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND, who joined Nelly to perform new songs from his just-released country-influenced EP, Heartland. The project features “Grits & Glamour” with Kane Brown, “High Horse” with Blanco Brown and Breland, and more.

The 60-minute special also featured high-energy, one-of-a-kind performances of Nelly’s biggest hits, including “Hot In Herre,” “Country Grammar (Hot Shit).” CMT also through in a few surprises to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nelly’s diamond-certified album, Country Grammar.

CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends aired on Wednesday, September 1st at 10p/9c, exclusively on CMT.
