The dreamy pop track, “Midnight Sky” is the first taste of what is to come on Cyrus’ forthcoming album, She Is Miley Cyrus. The song was inspired by the past year of her life. Although Cyrus has not yet announced the release date for her forthcoming seventh studio album, She Is Miley Cyrus, the new album will follow her 2019 EP, She Is Coming.

Cyrus was among the many incredible performances including Black Eyed Peas, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, BTS, CNCO, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Maluma, The Weeknd and others.

Hosted by Keke Palmer, The 2020 MTV VMAs aired on Sunday, August 30th at 8PM ET/PT broadcasted across 11 ViacomCBS brands including BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nick at Nite, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1, as well as The CW, making it available to an expanded broadcast audience for the first time.
