Watch Miley Cyrus’ Heartbreaking Tribute To Late Foo Fighters’ Drummer Taylor Hawkins

Miley Cyrus delivered a heartbreaking tribute to late Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins during her headlining performance at Lollapalooza Brazil on Saturday (Mar. 26).

The superstar filled in for the Foo Fighters who were originally scheduled to headline the event but were forced to cancel after the shocking death of Hawkins on Friday (Mar. 25). While performing, Cyrus dedicated her song, “Angels Like You,” to the late drummer.

In the midst of Cyrus’ Lollapalooza Brazil performance, she couldn’t help, but breakdown in tears saying, “I would have done anything to hang out with him one more time.”

She continued, “But I know that any time that I get onstage and any time that I get to play with my band, which if anything ever f**king happened to any one of them it would f**king kill me, so I couldn’t imagine how the Foo Fighters fell today.”

While paying tribute to Hawkins, photos of him displayed behind her on the stage.

Cyrus revealed that Hawkins was the first person she spoke to after her recent flight was struck by lightning, causing an emergency landing.

Brazil …. I’ve had a really emotionally and physically stressful last few days,” Cyrus wrote. “After having altitude sickness, my plane was struck by lightening & the first person I spoke to after the flight has now passed away… when I got to where I was going I had bronchitis!”

Cyrus then continued to share a series of Tweets ahead of the show, letting fans know “I always feel better when I am honest.”

Cyrus continued, “To be real I just want tonight’s show to be PERFECT for you… but I know none of you have ever loved me for being perfect … it’s actually been the opposite. You’ve loved me thru all of my past struggles and I know you’ll support me now. 🖤”

“My mind wants to run…. But my heart and soul WOULD NEVER leave Brazil without giving you the best show possible. It isn’t aligned with my values to not stick to my word. I promised you a SHOW & there will be one! There is so much to celebrate and be excited about…”

The “Plastic Hearts” singer then dedicated her performance to the late musician and told fans she is “heartbroken” over the sudden loss of her longtime friend.

“I am just feeling heartbroken & “human” today….” Cyrus said. “But I am putting on my superhero suit and going to be strong not only for YOU but for ME! I want to live my truth AND MY MESSAGE! Never give up!”

“Tonight’s show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins,” the 29-year-old shared. “The most badass dude I know who would want me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of rock n roll! I’ve got this with a little help from my friend TH above & all of you. Let’s do it. 🦅🖤🤘🏻”

Hawkins passed away at age 50 on Friday (Mar. 25).

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” a statement on Twitter read. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”

“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time,” the statement concluded.

According to a representative for the band (per Rolling Stone), Hawkins unexpectedly passed away. The group was preparing to perform at Festival Estéreo Picnic in Bogotá, Colombia, when Hawkins called the cops for reported chest pains, however he passed away in his hotel room before emergency personnel could arrive.

New reports share that several substances were found within Hawkins urine tests and that reported suffered a heart attack.
